- Cusco - The exciting tour to the Rainbow Mountain on ATVs begins with picking up tourists from their respective hotels. The journey continues in a comfortable tourist transport for approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes to the town of Japura (4200 meters above sea level), arriving around 6:20 am, where a delightful breakfast buffet is ready to be enjoyed.
- Vinicunca Mountain - Following breakfast, the guide provides essential instructions to embark on the thrilling ATV adventure to Gosqopata, lasting about 1 hour. From there, a 35-minute walk covering 1.5 kilometers leads to the viewpoint of the stunning Mountain of 7 Colors (5038 meters above sea level).
At the Mountain of Colors, there is ample time to capture the best photos as the group is the first to arrive, avoiding the crowds. This is the perfect opportunity to take photos, record videos, and appreciate the vibrant colors. After the visit, a 25-minute walk returns to the ATV parking area, where everyone retrieves their ATVs and heads back to Japura for a delicious lunch.
Post-lunch, the return to Cusco is scheduled, with an estimated arrival at 3:30 pm, concluding the tour at the respective hotels.

Unforgettable Adventure to Rainbow Mountain! - I recently did the Rainbow Mountain ATV tour, and it was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, everything was well organized and full of fun. Our guides, Arturo and Yadira, made the experience even better — they were professional, friendly, and full of energy.
The ATV ride through the Andes was breathtaking, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, colorful valleys, and stunning views all along the route. Arturo and Yadira made sure everyone felt safe and confident on the ATVs, as well as saved me multiple times from altitude sickness.
What really stood out to me was how caring and thoughtful they both were. My boyfriend accidentally left his jacket behind at a restaurant after the tour, and Arturo went out of his way to retrieve it the next day — he even managed to get it back to us just in time for our next tour! That level of kindness and dedication truly went above and beyond.
When we reached the top of Rainbow Mountain, Yadira and Arturo helped us capture incredible photos and made sure everyone had time to enjoy the view. The combination of adventure, scenery, and their genuine hospitality made this experience one of the highlights of our trip.
If you’re visiting Cusco and want to experience Rainbow Mountain in a fun and memorable way, I can’t recommend the ATV tour with Arturo and Yadira!

Wild ride to Rainbow Mountain - The ATV ride to the beautiful Rainbow Mountain was fantastic! It was such a unique experience, and we also got to visit another viewpoint — Mirador Ausangate. Overall, it was amazing! We were picked up directly from our hotel, enjoyed breakfast and lunch, and were dropped off back at the hotel afterward.

Incredible, A++ - I had an amazing experience! Everything was so smooth from pickup, ATV, lunch, etc. Our tour guides were fantastic, everything was so well run. The ATV ride was awesome, the lunch was delicious, and the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend this excursion! It’s so worth it.

Amazing and unique experience - We weren’t sure how the day would turn out since it was chilly and raining, which meant snow on the mountain. Our guide did a great job reading the weather and waited for the perfect window to take us up for the best possible view. And wow, the views were absolutely spectacular! Not just of Rainbow Mountain itself, but the entire surrounding area.
The guides were fun, friendly, and knowledgeable, the food was tasty, and there were alpacas everywhere! Riding the ATVs made it so much more enjoyable, we had no regrets as we passed the hikers struggling with the altitude. Highly recommend this experience!

We love the experience,... - We loved the experience, me and my husband took great advantage of Vinicunca, because it snows, it rains, it gets cold and we enjoy every climate variation, admiring the beautiful landscapes! The guides were wonderful , Arturo and the other mica ( I don't remember the name ) were exceptional!

Unprepared, Unsafe, and Unprofessional Experience - We booked this tour expecting an exciting ride to Rainbow Mountain, but it turned out to be poorly organized and unsafe. No one told us beforehand that we would have to drive ATVs for a full hour each way on very dangerous mountain roads with steep drops. It was nerve-wracking.
When we finally reached Rainbow Mountain, it was completely covered in snow, but we still managed to enjoy the experience and make the best of it. The real problems started on the way back. We had to walk for about 30 minutes, and then it began to rain and thunder. Despite the weather, the guides expected us to ride the ATVs back in heavy rain and lightning for nearly an hour.
At one point, one of the riders lost control and fell into a cliff and had to jump off to save his life. Instead of showing any concern for his safety, the guides only cared about recovering their ATV. They made all ten of us wait in the rain while they tried to pull it out, instead of having one guide lead the group back safely.
When we finally got to the restaurant, we were not allowed to leave until they finished pulling the ATV out, which took hours, and forced the injured rider to pay for the damage. The guides were rude, uncommunicative, and clearly prioritized their equipment over people’s safety.
Overall, the organization was a complete mess. If you want to see Rainbow Mountain or ride ATVs, find another company. This one does not care about your experience, time, or safety.
