Cusco - Santa Maria Biking
Santa Maria - Travelers will be picked up between 6:30 and 7:00 am to head to the sacred valley of the Incas. The journey will pass through charming villages and stunning landscapes. Upon reaching Ollantaytambo, there will be a short break before continuing by bus for an hour to Abra Malaga, arriving around 11 am (4350 mt.). From here, the biking adventure begins, descending for 3 hours through rural villages, rivers, orchards, and streams, reaching Huamanmarca at approximately 1:30 pm.
A private bus will then transport the group for 30 minutes to Santa Maria. After lunch and a brief rest, there is an option for river rafting. If chosen, the rafting adventure will last 2 hours, with a professional safety kayak accompanying the group. Those not participating in rafting will travel with an assistant guide by private bus for 20 minutes to Santa Rosa. From there, a 45-minute walk leads to the lodge La Choza. The bus will pick up the rafters and take them to Santa Rosa for a similar 45-minute walk to the ecological lodge in Pispitayoc (Lunch-dinner).
Santa Maria - Santa Teresa Hiking 8 hours (cloud forest)
Santa Teresa - After a delightful outdoor breakfast, the group will walk along the riverbanks and begin a 30-minute climb. Along the way, small coffee plantations, fruit trees, and diverse flora and fauna can be observed, as this area is a biodiversity paradise of the Inca jungle route. Upon reaching the mountain’s summit, the entire Urubamba valley will be visible. The group will then descend for 2.5 hours to the village of Qellomayo, where lunch will be served. After a break, a 3-hour trek through farms, rivers, and waterfalls will lead to the hot springs of Santa Teresa. After a relaxing break, the group will continue walking for 40 minutes to the town of Santa Teresa, where they will stay at a local house (Breakfast-lunch-dinner).
Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes
Aguas Calientes - After a 7 am breakfast, the group will explore less-traveled roads, starting from Santa Teresa. Those who pre-booked will enjoy the zipline and then be transported by bus to the hydroelectric plant, while the rest will hike for approximately 3 hours to the hydroelectric, where the group will reunite for a delicious lunch. After a break, the journey continues through the magnificent Inca jungle for 3 hours, passing waterfalls and coca and coffee farms, until reaching Aguas Calientes. The group will check into the hostel around 4 pm. In the evening, everyone will gather at a restaurant for a wonderful dinner and a briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu (Breakfast-lunch-dinner).
Machu Picchu - Cusco
Machu Picchu - The group will rise around 4 am to head to Machu Picchu, following an ascending path through the high forest, with the possibility of witnessing the sunrise. After passing the entrance control around 6:00 am, a private guide will provide a 2-hour tour of the sanctuary. Afterwards, the group will have free time to explore Machu Picchu independently. Those who reserved the hike to Huayna Picchu will embark on a 2.5-hour adventure (including ascent and descent). The trail is steep in places but rewarding. This trek is not recommended for those with dizziness. In the afternoon, the group will descend to Aguas Calientes to relax or shop for souvenirs until the train departs at 9:30 pm for Ollantaytambo. There, a private bus will be waiting to transfer travelers to Cusco, arriving late at night, around 10:30 pm. The tour concludes at Cusco’s main square (Breakfast).
