- Cusco Cathedral - The tour begins at the magnificent Cusco Cathedral, a key architectural masterpiece from the colonial period. Inside, visitors can admire intricately carved wooden altars, stunning artworks from the Cusco School, and a rich collection of historical artifacts showcasing the blend of Andean and Spanish influences.
- Coricancha - Following a visit to the Main Square, the next destination is Qorikancha. This temple was the most revered religious center of the Inca Empire, with its name translating to “Golden Enclosure” in Quechua. Today, it presents a unique cultural fusion, as the Spanish constructed the Santo Domingo Church atop the original Inca stone walls.
- La Vicunita Factory - In the second part of the tour, the journey continues to a llama farm and textile workshop. On this stop, while returning to Cusco, visitors can feed llamas, alpacas, and other South American camelids. They will also witness the traditional production of exquisite textiles and handicrafts. Afterward, the tour proceeds to the next destination.
- Sacsayhuaman - The tour then moves to the Cristo Blanco viewpoint for a guided exploration. Here, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city, capture stunning photos, and then proceed to the next stop.
- Q’enqo - The subsequent stop is Qenqo, one of the most enigmatic Inca sanctuaries near Cusco. Named after the Quechua word for “zigzag,” this archaeological site features intricate rock carvings, underground chambers, and a large limestone altar used for sacred rituals and mummification. Walking through its narrow stone tunnels offers a captivating glimpse into the spiritual core of the Inca empire.
- Pukara Archaeological Site - The tour continues to Puka Pukara, an impressive Inca fortress situated on a hilltop overlooking Cusco. Known as the “Red Fortress” in Quechua due to the reddish tint of its limestone walls at sunset, this strategic military checkpoint served as a watchtower, supply post, and barracks for royal travelers. Exploring its terraces, plazas, and ancient aqueducts provides an intriguing insight into Inca defense strategies and offers scenic views of the surrounding highlands.
- Tambomachay - The final stop is Tambomachay, the sacred Inca water temple located just outside Cusco. Referred to as the “Bath of the Inca,” this remarkable archaeological site features expertly crafted stone masonry and a series of underground aqueducts that continuously channel crystal-clear water through stone channels. Believed to have been a spa resort for Inca nobility and a ceremonial site for worshiping water as a life source, it offers a serene, fascinating look into advanced Inca engineering and hydrology.
- Cusco - The tour concludes with a return to the hotel, wrapping up the day’s activities.
