- Salinas de Maras - The tour will include a visit to the Salt Mines, situated northwest of the town of Maras. These mines comprise approximately 2,000 small pools, which have been utilized since the Inca era for economic exchange and continue to be operated by local residents today.
Legend has it that the mountain contains salt mines within, with a salty spring emerging from it. During the dry season, this water is used to fill the pools every three days over a month, in a process similar to “irrigation,” allowing the salt to gradually crystallize. Subsequently, the salt is processed for regional consumption.
- Moray - The tour will also include a visit to the Moray Archaeological Complex, located about 7 km southwest of Maras and 53 km from Cusco, at an elevation of 3,385 meters above sea level. This site is a unique archaeological location in the region. It features enormous natural depressions that the Incas utilized by constructing agricultural terraces or platforms with corresponding irrigation channels. Essentially, it serves as a prototype of a greenhouse. The largest depression reaches a depth of 150 meters, and the terraces have an average height of 1.80 meters, with space between each one.
