Cusco – Ninamarca/Pilcopata Town – Paraiso Lodge

Manu National Park - The journey begins early in the morning as we depart from Cusco! We travel by private transport, stopping at Ninamarca to view the pre-Incan “chullpas” (tombs) of the Lupaca culture. Our adventure continues to Paucartambo, a charming colonial town with narrow streets and a beautiful church, where traditional customs are still alive. We then ascend to Acjanaco Pass (3,550 masl), the entrance to Manu National Park, and the Tres Cruces de Oro viewpoint (3,700 masl) to enjoy a stunning view of the Amazon basins. From here, we descend through an elfin forest and then a cloud forest, where we can spot the cock of the rock (the Peruvian national bird), hummingbirds, trogons, spotted flycatchers, and woolly monkeys. The flora includes a variety of orchids, mosses, ferns, and more. Finally, we arrive in Pilcopata (700 masl) for our first night at the lodge, where we can refresh with a shower and enjoy dinner before resting.

Amazon Tour Atalaya Port – Rainforest Walk – Machuwasi Lake

Manu National Park - After breakfast, we continue our journey by private car (one and a half hours) to Port Atalaya (500 m.a.s.l). Here, we board a motorized boat to navigate the Alto Madre de Dios River. Along the rocky riverbanks, there are excellent opportunities to observe various birds, turtles, and sunbathing lizards. We then reach our next lodge. After lunch, we explore the mysterious rainforest, encountering a diverse range of species such as tarantulas, ants, butterflies, various monkey species, huge trees, exotic plants, and palms. After this unforgettable walk, we return to our lodge for dinner. Following dinner, we embark on a night walk in the rainforest, where we may see monkeys, ants, frogs, insects, birds, and other nocturnal animals. We then return to spend the night in our comfortable lodge, equipped with toilets and showers.

Rainforest Lodge to Parrot Clay Lick – Port Atalaya – Return to Cusco City

Manu National Park - We rise early today, and after breakfast, we delve deeper into the wildlife, flora, and fauna! We explore endemic species hidden within Manu and medicinal plants used by local natives for healing. We may encounter monkeys, wild boars, capybaras, anteaters, insects, snakes, frogs, and, if fortunate, jaguars or pumas. We return to our lodge for lunch, followed by a refreshing bath. Optional: Experience the adrenaline of a zipline adventure. In the afternoon, we visit Machuwasi Lake to explore on a wooden raft, a perfect way to observe the diverse local animal species, including the prehistoric hoatzin bird, caimans, and capybaras. Later, we return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, we enjoy a night activity on our boat in the river, with opportunities to see various species, before returning to our comfortable lodge.

Rainforest Lodge – Parrot Clay Lick Back to Atalaya and Cusco

Manu National Park - After breakfast, we take a 10-minute motorboat ride to visit the parrot and macaw clay lick, an unforgettable experience! After this activity, we return to the lodge for breakfast.

Then, we re-board our boat to begin our return journey. Our first stop is Port Atalaya, where our private vehicle awaits to take us back to Cusco, arriving between 7 and 7:30 pm. IMPORTANT!!

Vaccination against Yellow Fever is required, and bringing anti-malaria tablets is recommended!
