6 lakes - The views are amazing the driver was brilliant and very informative the breaks weren't very long but still had time for a cuppa the only thing that spoilt it was the weather it was freezing but even in the wind and rain the lakes are still beautiful

Highly recommended tour of the lakes. - Highly recommended tour to learn about the local area. Our driver was a wealth of knowledge and the route was spectacular, with ample time at stop off points to take photos of the scenery, grab food or have a toilet break. Even if you are on a short stay, then this is a great way to maximise your time in the Lake District.

Adding to the experience - I was in two minds about booking a tour, given that getting around the Lake District is so easy by using public transport. However, as I had limited time, I decided to see what else was on offer, and I'm so glad I did. Although my tour backtracked a bit, to where I had already been, I once again got to experience the Kirkstone Pass, which had only re-opened the day before, when I came across from Glenridding. I wondered about some of the beautiful, but isolated farm buildings down in the valley, and was delighted to have my curiosity more than satisfied - thanks Geoff. I probably wouldn't have taken the extra time to visit Grasmere and that, together with the Castlerigg Stone Circle were the highlights of my Windermere stay - not forgetting Sarah Nelson's gingerbread shop!

Beautiful Lakes and Great Guide - Duncan was a wonderful tour guide. Even though there was a road closure which affected the trip itinerary, he adjusted and showed us some additional beautiful sights to make up for it. I highly recommend this tour!!

Tim the legend - Me and my partner went on the six lakes tour yesterday with Tim as our tour operator. Tim is fantastic and kept us entertained throughout the entire tour. You can really tell that Tim loves his job and his positivity really shows. Would 10/10 recommend anyone to do this.

Views dependent on what time of year you take this trip. - The scenery is spectacular with most roadside trees just beginning to develop buds. The landscape was “saturated” with moss, stone walls and waterfalls. In addition, it was good to be given enough time to appreciate every attraction, too, with just enough time in Grasmere village to catch lunch. One could find other pursuits that go hand- in-hand with sightseeing, such as walking, visiting a farm, or scouting the shops at Bowness- on- Windermere. But, we were leaving the area right after the tour, so it made sense to hit for the tour option. Even though the drivers were charming on both of our two Mtn. Goat tours, (the other was the Beatrix Potter homes, the day after we arrived on Bowness-on-Windermere), they can only entertain so much. One could spend a half-day more productively if the climate were different - as, on a sunny day - but I would prefer to remain under cover of a big van as long as it’s raining. The view down from the top of Ridley pass - and the one from the peak itself - would have been even better were it not for being fogged in. Nobody’s fault there, Overall, a good way to pass the time even on a day that might be lost to weather, anyway.
