Tons of green & purple rocks to sort from or hammer into your perfectly-sized specimen!
You’ll hike 1/2 mile hike from your vehicle to our collecting spot on a forested mountain overlooking a large creek. About 300 feet of the hike is on a well-maintained, moderately steep mountain trail. Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes. Bring lunch, your preferred beverage and plenty of water … pounding rocks in the sunshine will make you thirsty!
Open-toed shoes, sandals or flip-flops are not allowed. We want you to go home with the same number of toes you arrived with! Kid-friendly leashed dogs are allowed, but sharp rocks are hard on pet’s feet and there is little shade where we’ll be digging. Our mountain water source is great for washing rocks, but not safe to drink.
