The sun was just beginning to rise over Cruz Bay as I made my way to Low Key Watersports, a name that had been whispered in my ear by fellow ocean enthusiasts. Known for their laid-back yet professional approach, I was eager to see if they lived up to the hype. She recommended the Grande Bay Resort, conveniently located next door, and I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to rest my head after a day of diving. Tina, another gem in the office, had everything organized for my 18 dives and even threw in a day on a 15’ Whaler with their “Ocean Runner” division. It was shaping up to be an adventure of a lifetime.

Diving into the Deep Blue

JR, affectionately nicknamed “Neptune,” was a force to be reckoned with, expertly wielding his lionfish spear gun and even fixing a computer O-ring for a fellow diver. Aqua and Mike’s experience in cave and technical diving added an extra layer of confidence to our dives. Their stories of underwater adventures were captivating, and I found myself wishing for more time to hear them all.

A Caribbean Dream

Each dive was a new chapter in this Caribbean tale, with vibrant coral reefs and curious marine life painting a picture of underwater paradise. The waters around St. John offered a playground for both novice and seasoned divers, with depths ranging from 30 to 80 feet. The dive masters’ knowledge and passion for the ocean were evident in every dive, making it an unforgettable experience.

As I packed my gear and bid farewell to the crew, I felt a sense of gratitude for the memories made and the friendships forged.
