A stunning day out - Excellent day from start to finish. Great welcome, safety and course briefing plus bike fitting. Shuttle to Clyde where a local cafe provided coffee and scones before hitting the road. Good quality e-bikes on very well marked trail. Some steep sections and hairpins handled well by the bike. The grade 3 bits not too difficult but very walkable as not too long. Scenery stunning. The optional stop at the winery for pizza (and wine) is a must. High winds for last 10km but had plenty of juice in the e-bike to increase the power. We are in our mid 60s and had a great day. Took us about 4 hours including stops. Wonderful.

Great bikes, wonderful trail, super friendly staff - Very, very good service provided by Kiwi Journeys! We rented a full suspension e-bike and a hard tail non-electric bike. Before we arrived, the staff made sure those were really the right bikes for us. Quality of the bikes was way above an average rental. We got dropped off at the Clyde end of the trail and cycled all the way back to Cromwell. Briefing was good and clear, and staff was happy and friendly. The tour was wonderful. All in all, I’d highly recommend riding the Lake Dunstan Trail with Kiwi Journeys!

Top service, great bikes and stunning ride. - Fantastic and friendly service from the guys at Cromwell. Very easy to rent bikes. They were in top condition and were very well maintained - all gears working, excellent brakes and a pannier. Awesome advice for a nice coffee at Clyde after being dropped off by shuttle. Would recommend and definitely use them again.

Perfect;everything went smooth - The team is just a team. From the start of my booking until the end of our trip was a great experience. Most of the time they were fully book and was excited to book the bikes and I forgot to placed my booking number. Sandra was great in managing to able to get our refund out of the discount price. When we arrived in their shop on that day, wveryone is friendly and welcoming. They were all patient to tell us how to use ebikes as a first timer user. They made us reassured that we will be fine and will enjoy the trail. Our driver -sorry we did not got her name - was great having a wee tour and telling us the history of the ladder and other things. She made us sure we will not get lost in getting back to their shop.BTW we went from Clyde to Cromwell which I will recommend too.You will not be pressured in your cycling.

Stunning Scenery and Outstanding Hosts – A Must-Do Adventure! - We recently rode the Dunstan Trail and Roxburgh Gorge in April, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The landscapes were absolutely stunning – dramatic, peaceful, and uniquely Central Otago. We completed both rides without e-bikes, and while there were a few hills, they were very manageable for the whole family. The trails are well maintained and offer a great mix of challenge and enjoyment. Our tour hosts were exceptional – informative, caring, punctual, and great communicators. The bikes provided were in excellent condition and well-suited to the terrain. We can’t recommend these rides – and the tour hosts – highly enough. If you’re looking for a scenic and well-supported cycling adventure, this is it!

excellent!! - Great bikes (complete with panniers/handlebar bags, and repair kits). Bikes beautifully maintained and actually big enough for me (a very rare rental thing). Had both 20" + 24" for our kids. As for the actual rides we did (family including 6 + 8 year olds) - gorgeous and varied. Would highly recommend!

100% Recommendation for Kiwi Journeys - Kiwi Journeys gave us a great pre ride briefing, so we felt well informed and confident. The bikes were well specked for the terrain which certainly helped the enjoyment of the day. We have used Kiwi Journeys before and would definitely use them again.

Lake Dunstan cycle trail - simply jaw dropping the whole way! - An absolutely brilliant ride along Lake Dunstan from Clyde to Cromwell. The trail is very well maintained and clearly marked. E-bikes recommended and makes the trail suitable for those with average or above cycling experience. We would recommend the Clyde to Cromwell direction is best, due to one reasonably steep descent midway. Kiwi Journey's were very helpful on this and multiple other rides we completed in Central Otage. Very friendly staff, prompt pick-ups over multiple days and very helpful in planning all our cycling adventures in Central Otago. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We will use this company again when we return. Highly recommended!

Great trail but would consider alternative company next time - Easy to book and prompt responses. Trail amazing - no concerns. Disappointments were: Advised to be there at 9.00 a.m for shuttle Cromwell to Clyde. Arrived on time. Our group plus 1 other. Shuttle left 9.45 a.m. Wasted time and no need to be there so early especially as we were group of 4 and only 5 people total. Advised 3.5 to 4 hrs to do trail. We are experienced cyclists and had e-bikes. We were rushing to get bikes back by 4pm deadline. Took us 5.5 hours no stopping. Credit card overcharged (were advised) then refunded later. Called 3pm day prior to ask to go day later due forecast (winter/off season). Advised $50 (total) fee to change as hadn’t been done by noon. Whilst in small print I think it rather ‘mean’ . Subsequently discounted to $25 (total) . Bikes themselves good. Given we have hired multiple times in the area, doubt we would use this particular company again when many other competitors to choose from.
