Must do! - We did the half day tour out of Bayeux. Marion, our guide, met us on time and was so knowledgeable and great in answering our questions. She planned the tour perfectly such that we would see the lowering of the flags at the cemetery. This is a must do tour if you’re an American and want to learn more about that fateful piece of world history and pay tribute to the young men who gave their lives in this area. Great experience with a very knowledgeable guide - We took this tour with Sophie. Sophie’s knowledge was excellent, she was able to provide the stories and background of D-Day as well as engage in more in-depth discussions. Sophie, provided the human stories that went beyond the statistics and provided insight into the difficulties of the invasion as well as the follow up campaign. She talked about the cost not only to the soldiers but also to the French civilians. The tour brought back the somber realities of war and the heroism of many young men. (Reviewed at: 2025-05-04)
