- Matilda Bay Restaurant - SUP YOGA involves practicing yoga on a stand-up paddleboard. Embrace a new experience, be open to the possibility of falling in, and enjoy both land and water yoga on the enchanting Swan River. SUP Yoga enhances balance, strength, core stability, and offers a chance to unwind on the water, suitable for all yoga and SUP skill levels.
The class begins with a gentle yoga flow on land to awaken the body, followed by paddling out on an inflatable SUP board for a short distance to continue the slow yoga flow on the board. Participants can choose to remain on their knees or seated if they are not ready to stand. Modifications are available. Classes always conclude with savasana, a blissful pose to relax on the water, in the fresh air, as the final resting pose. Weather conditions may require the class to be solely land-based yoga.
No prior experience is needed, and all equipment is provided. Wear comfortable attire (swimwear or yoga pants, nothing loose). Bring a change of clothes in case you take a dip. Please bring water and arrive wearing sunscreen. Arrive 15 minutes early for a safety briefing; assistance with inflating or deflating the boards may be requested. Public transport, including buses, is available, but please check the schedules for weekend or public holiday classes.
