Tamarindo is an excellent location for learning to surf, offering clean and gentle waves that ensure a fun and safe experience. All you need to bring is your swimsuit, sunscreen, and a positive attitude! Let’s enjoy some great waves together.

We meet at the PARKING right next to the restaurant “El Vaquero”, look for the purple flag that says “La Muda” or ask the parking guy/girl for “La Muda Surf”. If you for whatever reason have trouble finding us, you can ask for La Muda Surf, Carlos Brown, Isabella Carrera and Jeison Brown.

So much fun! - Such an incredible experience! If you’re questioning whether or not to do this- do it. I never thought I’d get up but everyone in our entire group did! It definitely is a little rough on the body- the waves are large and we definitely got water/sand everywhere! Definitely worth the experience though! Highly recommend. The instructors were awesome!

Great experience - We had a great experience! The kids got up on the boards pretty quickly and the instructors were so good at assisting! Awesome experience!

Wonderful staff, husband happy and a surfer!! - Carlos is an excellent instructor. He had a small group, including my husband, and did a thorough job in teaching them to surf. Sydney and Moida ( worked directly with my husband) was patient, kind, and helpful. Trent got up and surfed in a few times. At 62, there is nothing he can't do!!! High recommend 5 Stars!!

Unforgettable surfing experience - Absolutely unforgettable surf experience book this school! Isabella was amazing and worked with us as our flight was delayed and we had to reschedule to the next day.
If you’re coming to Costa Rica and even thinking about surfing, stop searching and book with this surf school immediately. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.
The instructors are not only incredibly skilled surfers, but also patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your progress. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to level up, they tailor the lesson to your ability and make you feel confident in the water right away. I was standing on the board faster than I expected lol!

5 stars for Carlos and team - Carlos was a fabulous instructor. He was very knowledgeable and gave details on improving my skills as a newbie surfer. I was able to get up on board!!! I had previously tried surfing on my own and am so glad I took a lesson. I felt that even in a group I had lots of individual attention. I would highly recommend Carlos and team.

Fun activity in Tamarindo - This activity was so much fun! Great surf lessons for the beginners. A must do activity when visiting Tamarindo area. Everyone in the family enjoyed it so much.

Great lesson! - Great surf lesson! The instructors were super patient, clear, and made the whole experience fun and easy to follow. I felt safe the entire time and was actually able to stand up and ride a wave by the end. Highly recommend for beginners or anyone looking to build confidence in the water 🌊

We had a blast! The... - We had a blast! The instructor (Carlos ?) and team were extremely attentive and very understanding. Safety was always at the forefront. We had plenty of time in the water to practice what was taught on land, and even then we were coached on every attempt. I can’t stress enough how wonderful these guys were; polite, dedicated to making us surfers and just plain happy.

Super Fun - do it! - Super fun! Our boys were first timers and had a blast...excellent instruction and guidance! A great way to start the day off - and they both got up!
