Great tour - Johnathan was a great guide. Told stories. Sang sings but also gave us quiet time. For Castle Cahir we had it all to ourselves!

Incredible Irish day Tour with Tommy! - Got a friendly greeting on arrival, at 6.30 AM, which was a fabulous start to the day and set the tone ! Tommy was absolutely amazing, both as a driver and wealth of information. His commentary was a mix of humour and historic facts. He pointed out many things of significance as we travelled to all of our destinations. First stop was 'The Rock of Cashel'. A truly beautiful place, with fantastic mountain back drops. We were left to walk around here. But Tommy told us a fair bit about the place and directed us to watch a video commentary. Next stop was 'Cahir Castle', again he pointed out places with local tales to tell. This tour was guided and then we had a bit of free time to explore on our own. Our final trip was to 'Blarney Castle & Gardens'. We had the most time to hang out here, and I can see why it's done this way. The grounds and gardens are incredibly stunning, and the Castle was impressive too. We were lucky to be here out of season, while it's quiet, so climbing to the top and kissing the stone required no queuing at all. I could happily spend a whole day here in the gardens! Tommy got us back on time, played some good Irish tunes and had us all laughing. I feel like I saw an extensive amount of Ireland today with little effort, in comfort. Any company can take you on a guided tour, but its characters like Tommy Flood that make the day more memorable and wanting you to use a company again. THANKYOU IRISH DAY TOURS & TOMMY

Get your Blarney on! - Excellent tour operator and experience . Highly recommend it for those wanting a quick overview /visit to the highlights . Guide was really nice and informative. I didn't wait the hour long line to kiss the stone - instead, check out the gardens/property and the cave underneath the castle.

Romancing The he Stone - Another litem crossed off my "life goals" list. Now that I have Romanced the Stone I have the Gift of Gab and can anywhere. Yes the steps are steep and the wait is pretty ng - but the best things in life are working h waiting for. I paid for my photo at the stone but it wasn't very flattering. Make sure you get a buddy to snap your photo. (The unflatteriness is probably more on "me" than the photog.)

A long day but enjoyable - The coach was a little bit late leaving in the morning but the driver explained why. The driver provided a small amount of history as we drove out of Dublin. All the stops and itinerary was clearly explained at the start. The first stop was at a service station about and hour and a half into the journey. The stop at the Rock of Cashel was interesting, but quiet as it was February. We then travelled to Blarney castle which was very quiet due to the time of year. I wouldn’t have wanted to queue on the small, uneven stone steps on the way up to the top of the castle. It’s very steep, slippery and gets very cramped. I am not super fit, and not keen on heights but I managed to get to the top (with a brief stop on the way). My daughter kissed the stone. I didn’t as it was wet and cold and it’s a long way down and you have to lean backwards over a large gap to kiss the stone. The gardens are probably beautiful in the summer. We went to the pub in Blarney for lunch. The menu was limited and quite pricey but the staff were friendly and the pub busy. My food wasn’t that nice ( I had the Irish stew). It was too salty for my taste. On the way back we stopped at Cahir Castle which was the most interesting part of the day for me. Jenny gave us a fascinating 30 minute tour which we all enjoyed. There is a toilet here and a few shops over the road for coffees and snacks. But beware - the journey back to Dublin after this stop is over 2 hours so bear that in mind. Overall it’s about a 12 hour day. You can be as active as you want. The main challenge is all those steps up to the top of Blarney castle. There is plenty of time on the bus to relax and sleep off the early start.

Had a great time! Philip... - Had a great time! Philip was very informative and fun. Wish we would’ve been told ahead of time that Cahir Castle was closed.

Beware - Traveler BEWARE! I canceled this tour within the allowed time frame, but was charged anyway. By the time I received the payment confirmation it was outside the refund period. I disputed with my credit card company, but Viator blamed me and charged me anyway. Viator is just an online marketplace, they dont run the tours. Book through the independent tour companies - usually local businesses, and avoid them at all costs.
