A very fun few hours - A brilliant morning.
They were a great team and the safety (in changing weather and a bit of a swell) was never a question - they were on it!
We had fun exploring, swimming, climbing and jumping - given clear instructions the whole time to make it all easy and achieveable for a mixed ability/age group - would highly recommend

Best day of our holiday!!!! - My 10yo daughter and I were supposed to have a surf lesson but the sea was too calm! So the team booked us onto a Coasteerinv session.
I can honestly say we had no idea what to expect!
When we arrived we were given wet suits, life vests and helmets. Ominous!
The lovely team looking after us were Sally & Jack. What a fun, helpful and caring pair they were!!!
We headed out to swim 500M to the Jump Sites!! Jack and Sally both offered my daughter lots of help and support on the swim even towing for a short period!
At the jump off site we were all given the choice of different heights but no pressure was put on us!
Then the swim back which we really enjoyed as it was much more leisurely.
At no time did we feel unsafe. We laughed all the time we were with the team and absolutely loved every second!
THE BEST DAY THANKS

All in all a wonderful (and tiring) adventure - Was recommended Freewave by Pencuke farm where we were staying and they did not dissapoint. Robin and Reuben were excellent guides, especially as they had to cope with 14 of us. They were brilliant with the younger ones, encouraging and helping the 12 yr old in our group when she started tiring. And patient with the older ones struggling to get on the rocks. They tailored it for all our needs, with lower jumps for the fearful and higher jumps for the thrill seekers. They explained everything, such as why we were going one way and not the other due to the tide an weather.

Coasteering - 2 hours of sea swimming, climbing and jumping from the rocks. Loved every minute. Was given the confidence to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of.

Great time first time coasteering - Had a fantastic experience doing the coasteering, the leaders were really friendly and gave an excellent briefing before we started. It was clear as we went through the session that they adapted the activities based on the groups ability and also the prevailing conditions!
There is a steep walk in and out of the bay, but the benefit is that the bay is really quiet and secluded.

A brilliant coasteering experience - Robin is a truly amazing coasteering leader. The safety briefings, as we progressed from start to finish were timely & comprehensive; we were made to feel safe in all aspects, also with Taylor as backup.
He tailored the trip to our abilities, the tide height, and sea conditions. Background knowledge was interesting, as we investigated sea caves, boulder fields, swam around the bay, several traversing climbs, and jumped in from ledges (always with patience and the option to opt-out, or reduce height).
Helmet, wetsuit & buoyancy aid - all in great condition.
Thank you!

Great experience - Excellent experience. Equipment provided was great. Staff were very knowledgeable and safety conscious. Quite a bit more challenging than other coasteering trips we'd done, but more interesting and varied.

Great experience thank you - We had a great time as a Family of four with early teens enjoying beautiful Bosilly Cove(?) for Coast Steering. It was the first time we’d done something like this.
The whole session was about three hours and involving some gentle swimming and serval jumps. It’s tough work so you still need a reasonable level of fitness particularly the swimming.
Robin, Sally and Jack were great guides and it felt safe - just the right amount of danger! Thoroughly recommend even just for visiting the cove which is beautiful. Parking nearby for £1 in a honesty box and ice creams afterwards. Brilliant.

Excellent Coasteering session with fun for all ages. Freewave are outstanding at offering fantastic experiences. - We have surfed with Freewave on a number of occasions before (which was always amazing). My son decided he wanted to do Coasteering for his 15th birthday. It was a fantastic experience, a beautiful location, with lots of interest. Excellent range of activities from open water swimming, jumps, caves and other fun moments like the meerkat swim and washing machine (you will know if you do it 😁!) Fantastic time and care for all ages and groups, we were with a stag group and family with younger child. One of the surf lifeguards/Coasteering instructors gave the younger child one to one attention to ensure he had a great time.
Can't wait to go again, because every time will be different! We all highly recommend this activity.

Failed! - We had a fantastic afternoon coasteering but it wasn’t with Freewave Surf Academy!
I booked a two and a half hour coasteering session out of Bossiney for my god daughter and her father (both relatively experienced at coasteering.) The booking was made in March for the beginning of August.
On the day before the booking it got to about 1545 and I had a sudden gut feeling that it would not be going ahead! I rang to enquire and was told that he had just got back from holiday and that he would get his colleague to call me back. We all found this slightly strange that a seasonally driven activity company owner would go on holiday during the school holidays but I guess needs must!
At 1903 I finally got a call to tell me that the session was to be cancelled due to difficult weather conditions the following day. This seemed odd as I had already checked weather conditions and though expected to be blustery they were otherwise not forecast to be likely to be prohibitive.
The weather forecast had not changed for the day for over 48 hours so to be notified at 1903 of the cancellation seemed somewhat irregular. Of course, safety is Freewave’s priority (I hope) BUT I think managing expectations early enough for people to make other arrangements is critical.
I live locally and the trip was for visiting family (very active family) so I was lucky enough to be able to contact Cornish Rock Tors who we have used for multiple activities over the years. I rang at a very unreasonable 1920 hours but was answered and booked in immediately for the next day on a 2 to 1 basis. He was very surprised to hear that my originally planned outing had been cancelled for weather reasons, that I had not been contacted to cancel it in good time and even more surprised to hear that one of the primary people from Freewave was on holiday in high season!
We had an amazing session coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors. Yes, it was blustery and battering but it was amazing. Particularly for two fairly experienced people at coasteering and other extreme sports. The father was an Army Para and the owner on holiday was made aware of this and his monocular vision now – several weeks previously.
The only reason I had booked Freewave was to go to a different area. I will not be booking them again.
So do I recommend this company and their experiences – well NO – I can’t recommend their abilities in coasteering as not experienced and I would deff NOT recommend their communication or customer service skills.
