The foundation stone was laid on August 15, 1859, and the church opened for worship on June 29, 1864.
Constructed from red sandstone with limestone dressings, the church features a roof ridge adorned with ornamental ironwork, partially gilded, and ending at the western gable with an ornamental cross with foliated arms.

Rose is an exceptional... - Rose is an exceptional tour guide. Not only is she filled with knowledge, she’s an excellent speaker and is so warm and friendly. We had a wonderful tour walking around Cork hearing about its history and seeing its sights.

Nice tour of Cork - Rose was a friendly tour guide. She made contact ahead of time to confirm meeting location and time. She was very knowledgeable about Cork and had good stories to tell. She was willing to show us a places to get drinks after the tour since it was a very hot day. We recommend the tour if you are looking to learn more about Cork.

Fantastic, Historic Tour with a Great Guide - Our guide, Breda, was fantastic! She had a very engaging way of sharing fascinating historical information about Cork City. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and would have been thrilled to spend more time with her.

Breda brought the charm and history to Cork! - Breda knew her history but also brought the many changes that Cork has experienced into our walk. I loved that she also shared modern Irish life. We almost skipped Cork after visiting Dublin and Belfast and I’m so glad we didn’t. Cork is a charming prosperous city with a lot of great stories!

Learned so much about Ireland, the Irish language, and Cork! - Neasa did a wonderful job making this tour super customizable. Cork is very walkabale, so we were able to fit so much in. So many of the places we could have walked through on our own, but Neasa’s expertise and background knowledge added so much to your Cork trip. Would 100% recommend this tour!

A fantastic, private tour! - We had the best experience with this tour and our guide Breda. She walked us through various parts of Cork and we learned a ton about history, food, and drink along the way. The private tour gave us time to ask questions and learn more along the way. Breda made sure to personalize her comments and recommendations along the way based on who we were which was a super special addition. We can’t recommend this tour (and Breda!) enough.

This Tour & Our Guide, Breda, were fantastic! - Breda was a fantastic guide for our private tour of Cork. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer or kinder person to show us all of the highlights of the city. We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a feel or Cork, learn some of its fascinating history, and find a few good spots around town for food and drink along the way. Thanks so much for helping us start our visit to Cork in such a special way!

2 hour walking tour of Cork - Breda guided us through Cork on our 2 hour walking tour showing us some interesting sites and sharing the history of the area. She was thoughtful that it was a Sunday and changed the order of the tour to enable us to see some areas that we would have missed if she did the tour in the regular order.

Nice easy tour - Breda was a great guide Very knowledgeable with good information. If she didn’t know the answer to our questions she was honest about it vs other guides we have had gave multiple answers they had heard. Honesty is always best! She was very personable as well.
