- Zagori Outdoor Activities - The journey continues to Zagori, nestled in the Pindus Mountains of northern Greece. Unlike the sun-drenched Aegean coast, this area is characterized by lush forests and stunning alpine lakes surrounded by majestic peaks. Zagori is a region where charming villages echo the history of Ottoman traders.
Zagori is a pristine collection of forty-eight traditional villages, nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage List, featuring ancient bridges, streams, and beautifully preserved historical buildings and churches.
There are two routes to choose from (please specify your preferred route when booking):
- Aristi - Visit the picturesque village of Aristi, a traditional Epirus village with Paleolithic artifacts. Explore “Stamatis Mansion,” a fine example of local architecture, and the 16th-century Monastery of Panagia Spileotisas, located near the Voidomatis river. Enjoy a brief walk in the forest.
- Mikro Papigko - Continue to Mikro Papingo, situated near the northern end of the Vikos Gorge within the Vikos–Aoös National Park. Surrounded by deciduous forests, the route offers breathtaking views of Vikos Gorge, Greece’s largest, with abundant flora and stunning stone pools.
Enjoy free time in the village.
- Kipoi - Explore the traditional village of Kipoi and stroll across its ancient stone bridges. The name “Kipoi” is derived from the numerous gardens in the area. Once the heart of Zagori, Kipoi showcases the traditional Epirus architectural style with stone roads and buildings, surrounded by stone bridges.
- Monodendri - The journey continues to Monodendri, perched at an elevation of 1,060 meters (3,480 ft), maintaining its traditional stone-built architecture. Visit the monastery of Agia Paraskevi, established in 1412, located at the edge of the Vikos Gorge, offering a breathtaking panoramic view.
Enjoy free time in the village.
