• Corfe Castle - Corfe Castle is a historic fortress located above the village sharing its name on the Isle of Purbeck peninsula in Dorset, England. Constructed by William the Conqueror, this 11th-century castle overlooks a strategic gap in the Purbeck Hills along the route between Wareham and Swanage. It was among the first castles in England to incorporate stone in its construction, at a time when most were made of earth and timber. Significant structural modifications were made in the 12th and 13th centuries. Admission is not included.
