- Nyhavn - The buildings surrounding Nyhavn are nearly 350 years old. They have been beautifully renovated to appear more vibrant, transforming the area’s atmosphere from somber to inviting. In the 1970s, the street became pedestrian-only. Today, Nyhavn is affectionately known as “The longest outdoor bar in Scandinavia” due to its numerous restaurants, pubs, and cafés that operate around the clock. It was once home to the famous author Hans Christian Andersen.

Copenhagen King’s Square - Kongens Nytorv is a square adjacent to Nyhavn, featuring an equestrian statue of King Christian V, who commissioned the square. Surrounding the square are several historic buildings:
• The Magasin du Nord (French for “Shop of the North”) is a Danish department store chain with its flagship store at Kongens Nytorv.
• The Hotel d’Angleterre (French for Hotel of England) has hosted notable figures such as Winston Churchill, Bill Clinton, Ozzy Osbourne, Neil Diamond, and many others over the years. - The King’s Garden - The King’s Garden is Copenhagen’s oldest park and royal garden, established by Christian IV and designed in the Renaissance style.
- Rosenborg Castle - Rosenborg Castle was constructed as a summer residence for Christian IV. Visitors can explore the castle to experience both the daily life and the festive occasions of royal life over the past 400 years. Additionally, it houses the Danish crown jewels, which are uniquely both displayed as museum pieces and worn by royalty.
- Rundetarn - The Rundetårn, or “Round Tower,” built in the 1600s, is Europe’s oldest functioning observatory, though it was not Denmark’s first. The renowned Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe developed the “Tychonian” system, an advanced model of the solar system for its time.
- Grabrodretorv - Gråbrødetorv, or “The Grey Friars Square,” is a charming square named after the Franciscan monastery that once stood there. It features the Stone of Shame, with the original stone housed at the Natural History Museum. The story is linked to Leonora Christina, daughter of Christian IV.
- Church of the Holy Spirit - Helligåndskirken (The Church of the Holy Ghost) is one of Copenhagen’s oldest churches, dating back to the 1200s. Initially, it did not have a tower.
- Stroeget - Strøget is Copenhagen’s, and one of Europe’s, longest pedestrian streets, stretching 1.11 kilometers. Known primarily for shopping, it runs from the Town Hall to Kongens Nytorv near Nyhavn, offering a wide variety of shops. Street performers, including acrobats, magicians, and musicians, are a common sight along the street.
- Hoejbro Plads - Højbro Plads, or “Højbro Square,” was constructed after Copenhagen’s great fire in the 1700s. It features an equestrian statue of Bishop Absalon, the city’s founder. One of Copenhagen’s many Christmas markets is held here during winter.
- Christiansborg Slot - Christiansborg Palace, now the seat of the Danish Parliament, was once the residence of Danish royalty. The Palace is an art collection, ranging from antiques to modern masterpieces. The Queen’s Tapestries are a must-see!
