• Parque Nacional da Tijuca - The Tijuca Forest (Portuguese: Floresta da Tijuca) is a tropical rainforest in Rio de Janeiro, spanning approximately 32 km² (12.4 mi²). The tour includes a stop at Paineiras to board official National Park Authority vehicles to reach the top of Corcovado Hill, where the Christ the Redeemer Statue stands.
• Corcovado - Christ the Redeemer - From Corcovado Hill’s summit, admire the 38-meter-tall Christ the Redeemer statue, crafted from reinforced concrete and covered in a mosaic of triangular soapstone tiles. Enjoy some of the city’s most stunning views.
• Sugarloaf Mountain - Ascend in two stages by cable car. The first stage reaches Urca Hill, 220 meters above sea level, offering splendid views of Baia de Guanabara. • Morro da Urca - At 220 meters high, this hill is the first cable car stop en route to Sugar Loaf. From Morro da Urca’s peak, enjoy spectacular views of various city landmarks, including Leme, Copacabana, Ipanema, Flamengo, Leblon beaches, Pedra da Gávea, Tijuca Massif, Corcovado with Cristo Redentor, Guanabara Bay, Enseada Botafogo, Downtown, Santos Dumont Airport, Governador Island, Niterói, Rio-Niterói Bridge, and in the distance, the Serra do Mar and Dedo de Deus peak.
• Maracanã - The tour continues past Maracanã Stadium, with a brief stop outside for photos at Bellini’s statue, the famous captain who led Brazil’s soccer team to victory in the 1958 World Cup. The stadium’s interior is not included in this tour, but specific tours are available.
• Sambodromo da Marques de Sapucai - Next, visit the Sambadrome, the main venue for the city’s Carnival parade, with a quick stop for photos.
• Escadaria Selaron - Visit the Escadaria Selarón, a vibrant tiled stairway created by self-taught Chilean artist Jorge Selarón. After traveling the world, Selarón settled in Rio in 1983, in a small house facing the once-desolate stairway connecting Lapa and Santa Teresa. He covered 215 steps with tiles collected from Rio’s urban areas or donated by visitors worldwide. Since 1990, Selarón has laid over 2000 tiles, primarily red, as a “tribute to the Brazilian people.”
• Carioca Aqueduct - Located in the Lapa neighborhood, the Carioca Aqueduct, also known as Arcos da Lapa, serves as a bridge for a popular tram connecting the city center with the Santa Teresa neighborhood uphill, known as the Santa Teresa Tramway.
• The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian - As the tour continues, see the Lapa Arches, Lavradio Street, and Avenida Chile. We assure that the visit to the Christ the Redeemer Statue and to the Sugar Loaf Complex won’t be affected but due to traffic issues and streets closed around the city, some places may be excluded from visitation during the afternoon part of the tour.
