Here, visitors can explore various sanctuaries dedicated to Roman deities such as Ceres, Vesta, and Mithra….
- Tiddis Roman Ruins - The tour begins at a collection of circular tombs known as Bazinas, some of which date back to pre-Roman times. The journey continues to the town’s main entrance through a grand gate featuring the Arch of Memmius. Here, visitors can explore various sanctuaries dedicated to Roman deities such as Ceres, Vesta, and Mithra. Additionally, there is a Christian Church and baptisteries to see. Numerous cisterns are scattered throughout the area, including a large water tank with three sizable basins on the upper part of the site, indicating historical water supply challenges. On the lower side, there is a large Villa of Mosaics, featuring remnants of an olive press and baths that were later repurposed for pottery.

Tiddis Roman Ruins - Mausoleum of Quintus Lollius Urbicus
Following the exploration of Tiddis’s Roman ruins, the tour proceeds to the nearby family Mausoleum of Quintus Lollius Urbicus, located about 4 km away. This memorial honors the governor of Britannia from 139 to 142 and was constructed for his family. It remains standing in a secluded field, with worn inscriptions dedicated to his family members. - Tiddis Roman Ruins - A picnic lunch will be enjoyed.
