Cheile Borzești - Hike Overview
After a 50-minute drive, the starting point of the hike is reached. The trail begins near Buru Hut, adjacent to the national road. The path follows Borzesti brook, which carves a wild gorge before joining the Aries. The trail marking guides hikers through the gorge, past two waterfalls that require caution. In the middle of the gorge, the hike continues without trail markings, following the stream past several rapids to Gura Jigaului, a site of a former watermill. On the return, the route changes to ascend to a viewpoint known as Coltu Corbului Peak. Here, a picnic is enjoyed in a traditional Romanian style before descending through the forest back to Buru Hut. The secluded nature of these gorges offers a perfect retreat for those seeking peace and serenity.
