Embark on a 2.5-hour tour for a unique opportunity to immerse in the nature and culture of an authentic Sri Lankan village. The driver will pick guests up from the hotel and travel by Tuk Tuk to Ehhelagala Village, a picturesque rural area in Sigiriya city. The tour begins with a Bullock cart ride near the village pond, followed by a Catamaran boat ride to the other side of the rural village. After a short walk through paddy fields and vegetable cultivation, guests will reach a village house. Here, a local woman will demonstrate traditional Sri Lankan cooking. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most significant Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room containing the tooth is open to devotees and tourists. Although the tooth itself is not visible, it is kept in a gold casket shaped like a dagoba (stupa), which contains a series of six dagoba caskets of decreasing size. The complex also includes several smaller temples.
