Colchani - Passengers will be picked up from their respective hotels in Uyuni and taken to the train cemetery to view the historic locomotives.
Next, the journey continues to the community of Colchani, known as the gateway to the salt flats, where visitors can explore rustic craft workshops and a micro-plant for processing rustic table salt.
The expedition proceeds to the magnificent Salar de Uyuni, with stops to observe salt extraction, the salt flat’s “eyes,” and the Sal Playa Blanca hotel, which now serves as a museum.
Later, the tour visits Incahuasi Island, the most popular island in the salt flat, located centrally within the salt flat. Here, visitors can enjoy a walk among large cacti, marine rock fossils, and breathtaking 360° views from the viewpoint. Note that the island is not accessible during the rainy season.
At the conclusion of the tour, guests will be taken to their salt accommodation for a restful stay.
Ollague Volcano Viewpoint – Siloli Desert – Stone Tree – Red Lagoons
Salar de Uyuni - The day starts with breakfast at the salt lodge, followed by a departure to the Ollague volcano viewpoint to admire the volcanic desert landscape and sparse high Andean vegetation.
The tour then visits Chiarkota Lagoon, Hedionda Lagoon (noted for its sulfur smell), Onda Lagoon, and Ramaditas Lagoon. These lagoons are frequented by flamingos, which use them as feeding and resting spots during migration. Lunch is enjoyed on the road at midday.
The journey continues to the Siloli Desert, where the stone tree, an unusual rock formation, can be seen. The tour proceeds to Laguna Colorada, notable for its striking reddish hue. The day concludes in the town of Huayllajara, where dinner is served, and guests spend the night in a community family lodge offering basic accommodation.
Fumaroles – Polques Hot Springs – Laguna Verde
San Pedro de Atacama - The day begins early with breakfast, followed by a visit to the fumaroles and earth cracks where volcanic lava and sulfurous gases emerge.
The tour continues to the hot springs, known for their therapeutic benefits for arthritis, where visitors can enjoy a relaxing bath. The water temperature ranges from 25 to 32 °C.
The journey proceeds through the second desert on the Salvador Dalí tour, offering an excellent panoramic view reminiscent of the desert landscape.
