Arrival at the Surfing Mecca

As soon as I set foot in Coco, Costa Rica, I could feel the ocean calling me. The salty breeze, the sound of waves crashing in the distance, and the laid-back vibe of the town were all too familiar. My wife and I had been chasing waves across Central America for years, but this time, we were here for something special: Witches Rock. Known as a surfing paradise, it was a destination that had been on our bucket list for far too long.

We met up with Walter, our guide and surf coach for the day, who was as enthusiastic about the ocean as we were. His knowledge of the local surf spots was impressive, and he assured us that we were in for an unforgettable experience. With his guidance, we set out on a personalized boat trip, ready to conquer the legendary waves of Witches Rock.

We explored secluded beaches, snorkeled in crystal-clear waters, and even tried our hand at fishing. The homemade guacamole served on board was a delightful treat, adding to the laid-back, sun-soaked experience.

Our daughters, who had joined us for this trip, were thrilled with the donut rides and the chance to see dolphins, manta rays, and colorful fish up close. Walter’s keen eye for spotting sea life made the trip even more memorable for them. It was a family adventure that we would cherish forever.

As we sailed back to Coco, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique and fulfilling adventure.
