Cool experience - The weather didn’t cooperate but we still had a great time. It was cold and miserable for us but the Wolfdogs loved it. They were playful and gave us a really cool howling session. We learned a lot and enjoyed watching the enrichment activity with the person they have bonded with. It was such a cool experience to watch him and the Wolf dogs interact with each other.

A very enjoyable adventure. - A beautiful sanctuary, great staff, and the wolfdogs provided a very enjoyable walkthrough with their antics and mere presence. Magnificent animals that are well cared for and respected. The temperature the day we were there was about 23 and it was sunny.

We learned a lot about Wolf Dogs - Really Great - We saw a flyer at one of the hotels about this place and thought it would be a great stop on would way back to Calgary. You do have to get a little off the main road to get there, but we think it’s worth the effort if you have the time in your schedule. I think they had around 20 wolf dogs when we were there, but it can vary. You can tell that they take great care of these animals and try to respect them at every step. It was very interesting to learn how they determine when wolf dogs are high content, medium content and low content wolf dogs, and they have some of each at the sanctuary. You basically walk through the various enclosures (specially designed to keep both the wolf dogs and visitors safe at all times. The enclosures also include various features to help them acclimate to the environment. During our walk through, one of the workers entered one of the enclosures with 3 of the wolf dogs and provided lots of information about them as she brushed them (all were shedding badly as part of their normal seasonal process). After the talk, she then proceeded to feed them. It was interesting to see how the different wolf dogs reacted and protected their food. They also offer a tour (3 times a day I think) to give more detail about the wolf dogs and what they do at the sanctuary, but our timing wasn’t right for the tour.

Wonderful! - I visited Yamnuska 6 years ago when last in the area, so was keen to revisit and see how it had grown and developed. It was wonderful then, and even more so now. They have so many wolfdogs in their care, but it's clear that they all have the space, care and enrichment that they need. Walking around the site and the different enclosures is great, with lots of info boards along the way, as well different talks during the day. I paid for the additional interactive tour which was fantastic, having the opportunity to meet two of the packs and the special characters in them, as well as learn more about them, wolfdogs in general and the centre itself. A definite visit if you're in the area.

A lovely sanctuary - We had a lovely time at the wolfdog sanctuary which was very informative. We paid for an extra intro talk and we learnt a tonne. It's clear that the animals live a comfortable life in this beautiful place.

Exceptional experience - We had a wonderful day at the sanctuary. It was worth every penny. We did the interactive tour and has a great experience with the wolf dogs. Then we walked around did some more educational activities, including a “group howl” that got the whole sanctuary howling. The tour guides were knowledgable and interesting, and the whole sanctuary was really well appointed. And it is great to support their mission. Can’t recommend more highly.

Fantastic sanctuary experience - We loved this. Arrived in time for the Wolfdog Wisdom session and Erin did a great job of teaching us about the wolfdogs while running a demonstration. Kudos to the people doing this important work.

A wonderful day! - We visited the sanctuary yesterday whilst staying in Cochrane with my daughter who has recently moved to Canada. We were overwhelmed with how special it was and how the wolfdogs are cared for so well. It was so evident to see the complete dedication and love these animals are shown by their carers. We were given an intro talk by a lovely girl at 12.15 introducing us to Aspen and Griz- she was passionate, helpful and obviously totally in love with the wolfdogs which was so endearing. She was super knowledgable and a wonderful advocate for the sanctuary.! We also met Erin who introduced us to the Pharoh pack. We were gobsmacked to hear after speaking to her that she had only been working at the centre for 3 weeks! Her energy was infectious and she exhibited such warmth, respect and consideration for the dogs as well as being interesting and captivating as she engaged with us and the pack. What a wonderful experience for us to see this fantastic centre in action. Knowing that Costco supply their foods has made me renew my membership for their UK store where I live. Congratulations to the team who recruit such lovely people to work at this amazing place and thank you for a wonderful day.
