Sacambu - The adventure begins at 9:00 am from Casa de las Palmas hostel, heading to the port of Leticia. Here, participants board a boat for a scenic journey along the Amazon and Yavarà rivers, reaching the charming lodge in Sacambu, Peru, in about three hours.
Sacambu - Upon arrival at the lodge, guests will enjoy a delightful lunch followed by a brief rest. The afternoon includes swimming in the lakes of Sacambu and exploring the rivers to spot pink and gray dolphins. The day ends with a breathtaking sunset viewed from the boat.
Sacambu - Back at the lodge, there is time to unwind before dinner. Evening activities include either caiman spotting or a walk through the flooded jungle, depending on the river’s condition. The first night offers a choice between sleeping in a bed with a mosquito net or camping outside in hammocks.
Exploring the Flooded Jungle
Sacambu - After breakfast, the group sets out to find a prime fishing spot, with the thrilling chance to catch piranhas.
Sacambu - Following the fishing adventure, guests return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. The afternoon features a two to three-hour walk or boat ride (depending on the river’s level) through the lowland jungle, seeking out wildlife and flora.
Sacambu - In the evening, participants can choose between a night hike or a canoe trip, then spend the night camping in the jungle or sleeping in a bed with a mosquito net at the lodge.
Meet the World’s Largest River Fish
Sacambu - After breakfast, the tour visits a nearby village to see the Pirarocú, the largest river fish, and observe monkeys being released.
Sacambu - The group returns to the lodge for lunch and prepares for the journey back to Leticia, with the option to navigate the Gamboa River (depending on the river’s level). The tour concludes in Leticia between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
