Our tour guide Sara was excellent, very informative and made the tour a very pleasant experience
Great tour guide Sara gave us so many interesting information, mixing history with food stories and traditions. The food chosen was great, particularly loved the coffee, the gelato and the lunch place! Well done Sara, I 'd definitely recommend it!
We love food, and the tour was a great way to see the main sights of the city as well as learning about its food specialties. Our guide was fantastic.
Sara was so informative and passionate. We learned not only about the incredible food of Bologna but also the history of the town. We were treated to places and foods that if we had not been on this tour we would have never seen, tasted or experienced. It was a joy and true pleasure to taste Bogna.
Lots of Delicious food and informative commentary from the guide
Sara was very knowledgeable and took us to places we wouldn’t have known about nor found on our own. She was attentive to the group. I highly recommend her as a guide. The tour provided excellent value for the price. Sara was terrific!!
The tour was terrific. My only advice to future participants? Don't eat before you go because you will taste your way through Bologna's fabulous markets and food scene!! Sara, our guide, was so informative and helpful. The group is small, and it is a wonderful introduction to Bologna and its fabulous history including food (sadly, I was an abject failure at the tortellini folding lesson). Among the highlights was the picnic we had at Osteria del Sol with wine. Sara had purchased a wonderful array of tantalizing treats for us to enjoy with lots left over for us to share there for lunch. The final touch was the gelato samplings we enjoyed at the Cremaria near Santo Stefano. Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about Bologna, its fabulous food history, great places to visit and eat, all with a wonderful guide!
Not only did I enjoy tasting the best that Bologna offers, the tour was educational and fun! Our guide Riccardo was so informative and no question was too much (and we asked a lot of questions)! This tour ensures you have the chance to taste almost everything that region is known for. We even had a chance to make a tortellini while tasting them afterwards. We learned the history of the tortellini, enjoyed lunch at the oldest restaurant in Bologna and sampled wonderful local wines. Thank you!
Food was perfect, as was Elena. So fun and educational.
Very knowledgeable guide!
Lovely guide, great insight to Bologna.
Felt like a local!
What a fantastic experience! From our first contact when booking the tour through to meeting our guide Sara and the experience on the day it has just been so easy and a pleasure. We had a great group of people to walk with on the day and Sara is so knowledgeable, not only about all aspects of food from Bologna, but of the history and the people of her city. We have been back for more coffee from AromA and they were so pleased that we had returned! A must do tour when in the city.
Great tour with a lot of nice little facts about Bologna and their food traditions
This was such a great way to learn about the cuisine in Bologna. Andrea was an amazing guide! It was a small group and very personalized. He has a relationship with each shop owner that he takes the tours to meet. It really was a wonderful experience!
Elena, our guide was very, very good. She showed us some lovely places and we ate some delicious food. Our only issue is with the restaurant recommendations in the leaflet she provided. That evening we went to Osteria Broccaindosso and the food was awful. The steak was a bad cut of meat and the breaded veal cutlet was also dry and had no flavour. This was our last night in Bologna and it was disappointing to have had such terrible food which you had recommended to us. The previous evening we had been to Grassilli and this place had amazing food, a million times better than your recommendation. I am still very annoyed that I paid over 80 euro's for such terrible food. Had it not been on your leaflet, I never would have gone there.
Fabulous tour! Wonderful guide Sara, delicious local foods sampled, many sights seen as we explored central Bologna, and lots of information and tips given. Nicely paced over about four hours which never seemed rushed. Maybe they should think about offering a little less food and one extra glass of wine instead? But excellent value overall and a very good introduction to Bologna and it’s gastronomy.
Sara was an excellent guide, and the small size of the group was important for us. The places we visited were excellent, very authentic and not doing a hard tourist sell. Only negative would be the use of plastic cups and plates. Please swap to compostable wear and tell people to bring their own water. Regards
Elena was great, very knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to get to know. Thank you
This tour is fantastic. Not only was our guide, Sara, knowledgeable about food made in and around Bologna, and took us to exceptional shops, but she knew history of the area and could answer all our questions regarding such. We had 3 generations of our family on the tour and everyone enjoyed every moment.
Very interesting tour super friendly and knowledgeable guide, but the products that are featured in the tasting portion of the tour are somewhat low quality (aside from a splendid tasting of ragu, all other meats are simple charcuterie or deli meats) and only two kinds of cheese were featured. The price would be a bit more justified if there was more variety to sample.
The Classic Bologna Tour was fantastic! Highly recommended to anyone, especially if you are a new visitor to the city (as I was) because a lot of its fascinating history is also explained. Riccardo our guide was wonderful!
Great way to see a bit of the City, learn about it and eat at places you would normally not find
Perfect tour full of good food, good wine and good company. It was so interesting to learn about how the different products are made and where they come from. And such a great idea to have a picnic Italian style! Andrea is an amazing tour guide with such a passion for food, he made it such a fun day and a wonderful experience.
I loved the idea of shopping as we went for a lunch at the end of the tour! Unless we are staying in an apartment, it’s something that often eludes us so having input into buying meats and cheese was great! It was a fun tour! I’d highly recommend it in this food centric city!
Great fun, informative, interesting walking tour that covered many of the specialties of the region including pasta, gelato, coffee, meat and more. Plenty of food and even options for vegetarians!
Sara was a delightful hostess. Friendly, nice and informative. Great food and she also stopped to give some historical information. It really helped us to get a very good perspective of Bologna. I would very much recommend the tour.
This was an excellent and informative tour. Elena is very knowledgeable about the local cuisine as well as architect. All in all a delightful experience.
Great tour! We had a lot of fun, learned a lot. Andrea is pleasant, patient and caring Highly recomanded.
Caterina was the best. And the format of the tasting was great - we would visit the various restaurants but the food would already be purchased and packaged to go. So we would get to see who made the food we were eating without needing to wait! And the espresso and gelatto were the best. Fantastic tour.
We stayed in Italy for 2 weeks and our food tour in Bologna was one of our favorite things we did the whole trip. We learned so much about the city's history and passion for food. And of course, we loved everything we ate. Definitely a must do!
Sara was a fantastic guide, and we enjoyed the small size of the group. The information was very interesting, and it was also great to get additional information about Bologna from a historical perspective. The food we ate was delicious, and lunch was more than plentiful. Overall, a very good experience and one i will recommend to friends that plan to visit Bologna.
Learned a lot about local specialty foods and enjoyed visiting the different shops and the markets. Elena was very friendly and helpful and answered all our questions.
Me and my daughter had a very good experience the guide was nice,my daughter is vegiterian and she took special car of her,the tasting was great, and we were given tips wich were realy good.thank you.nh
I had a great time on the Classic Bologna tour. I really learned a lot of history about Bologna and also the different food and drink we tried. It was a great way to be introduced to the city. Riccardo was great and so full of knowledge. The highlight was the lunch in Osteria il Sole at the end to eat our food. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bologna and who enjoys food. Thank you!!
Caterina was wonderful! So friendly and informative , a fantastic day with some lovely food and lovely people. Set the tone for the rest of our trip - we even revisited some of the places a couple of times ! Thank you Caterina :)
Caterina was an amazing and thoughtful guide. She shared with us much insight about the culture and the food of Bologna. The selection of tastings were above our expectations and certainly left feeling like it was worth the money (don’t eat before going!!). She also showed us some great shops and cafes that we returned to the following day !
A wonderful food tour of an amazing food city. We discovered places we had walked past the day before but did not know how incredible they were. The market, coffee shop, gelateria, and osteria for lunch all made for a very special day. Our guide was knowledgeable and we truly enjoyed spending time with her. This tour is highly recommended!
Our guide, Riccardo, was very friendly and shared many interesting facts about the history and cuisine of Bologna. The smaller group also made for a relaxed and fun vibe
Good pace, covered enough ground and tour guide was perfect :)
