Great private cooking class - Our tour guide was Olga…wonderful experience and she was very knowledgeable of the area and its history. We have a private cooking class (4 hours) with chef Matteo at his restaurant, Otto.Zero. He has GREAT…taught us real Italian cooking and then we had lunch all together. Highly recommended!

Five Star local food experience-not to be missed. - Want an intimate experience learning how to make local Italian dishes from start to finish? We were a group of 4 friends who enjoy food and good times and were looking for an authentic experience. We got what we were looking for.
Our “guide” Olga met us at the Civitavecchia port terminal and guided us to the local city food market for the ingredients of what we were scheduled to make. She also answered all our questions about items in the food stalls we passed. Olga then handed us over to our instructor/ mentor, chef Matteo. He guided us through making fresh Gnocchi, a tomato sauce from scratch and a veal/sage/prosciutto meat dish. Once completed we sat down to enjoy what we’d just learned to make. So good!
What makes this experience stand out was the effort of Olga and Matteo to make us feel comfortable and confident in what we were doing. We felt like we’d accomplished something we could all enjoy.
We encourage anyone who enjoys good food and like to learn from a local pro to take this excursion

Very special experience courtesy of Olga and Matteo - Olga met us and took us to shop at the local market and then onto Otto Zero for our cookery class. Matteo was a gentleman and very passionate about his restaurant and food. The cookery class was excellent and the food we helped cook was amazing. We felt privileged that Matteo spent time with us to show us so much as he runs a busy restaurant. Olga was a fabulous , knowledgeable guide. It really was a very special experience. Im so glad we didn't go into Rome and spent a beautiful morning in this restaurant. Highly recommend this tour.

The highlight of our trip - A wonderful day cooking and dining at a local restaurant with very warm engaging family. The tour was just the right amount of time and fabulous trying local flavors and meeting local people. Chef Mamma is so warm and hospitable, this was a real treat!

Fantastico! Hands On Cooking Experience. - Very easy to correspond with IncitTur and had a lovely guide for the Market, her name was Olga. She then accompanied us to the cooking class at the restaurant. Our chef was Mateo. WOW! Fantastic instructor and very inclusive with the group. Everyone got to experience "Hands On" cooking! We made Tiramisu, which was the BEST EVER! We made gnocchi, fresh chunky tomato sauce and Veal Saltimbocca. Wine was served with lunch. I highly recommend this experience.

Amazing!!!!!! - Hands down the best cooking class we’ve ever experienced! It truly made our European trip unforgettable and was by far one of the best excursions we’ve ever done. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to skip Rome and stay near the port — an incredible and authentic experience you won’t regret!

An Unforgettable Culinary Journey! - Our market tour and cooking class with Natalina from Incitur was absolutely magical! With just four of us in our intimate group, we received incredibly personalized attention throughout the entire experience.
Natalina began by sharing fascinating stories about Civitavecchia's rich history, setting the perfect cultural backdrop for our adventure. The local market visit was a feast for the senses - we learned about selecting the freshest ingredients while Natalina shared insider tips about Italian cooking traditions.
The highlight was definitely the hands-on cooking session. The restaurant chef graciously opened his kitchen to us, patiently teaching us the art of making perfect gnocchi from scratch and the secrets behind an authentic tiramisu.
Dining on our homemade creations in the restaurant's beautiful setting was the perfect finale. The intimate atmosphere, combined with the pride of eating food we'd prepared ourselves, made this an experience we'll treasure forever.
Natalina's passion for her craft and genuine care for her guests shone through every moment. This tour perfectly blends culture, education, and pure enjoyment. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic taste of Italian life!

Amazing local cooking experience, with a little history! - Since we have been to Rome, we wanted to stay local on our cruise stop in Civitavecchia so we decided to do this tour. We had the best time as a family! We first met our guide, Olga right outside the port terminal. We walked through town and got some history and then headed to the local market where we bought the ingredients for our meal. Everything at the market was so fresh and it was great to see how locals buy their food everyday. We then headed off to meet our chef, Matteo at his restaurant Otto.Zero and the cooking began.
With Chef Matteo to guide us through we made Tiramisu, fresh pasta pomodoro, and saltimbocca alla romana. It was so much fun! Matteo was kind and patient and a true local chef. We learned a lot about Civitavecchia and local cuisine and had the best time. And the food was delicious--the best that we had in Italy. Everything was so fresh. Also, they happily accommodated my request to make pasta instead of gnocchi!
We then sat down to eat our meal in the restaurant and enjoyed a great glass of wine. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip and Olga and Matteo made it extra special.
I booked directly with Incitur and they were great with communication--I got a confirmation right away upon booking and a reconfirmation right before our tour with clear instructions for where to meet. I highly recommend this for a true local experience and fun for the whole family!
