Highlights

The begins when you are picked up at your hotel or you can meet at the main tour office (information will be given upon booking).

Start your 81 km journey, in an air-conditioned 2015 Hiace Toyota van, with the friendly and amazing staff, who will entertain you during the entire trip with fun games and lots of information about the region.

You will make a stop for “Pan de canela” (cinnamon bread) that you can try at your own expense, that locally produce and very delicious. Grab a cup of coffee with your bread if you like.

Move onward to the surrealistic garden or “Las Pozas”. Upon arrival, you will get to tour around “Las Pozas” for approximately 2 hours and take pics on this amazing place. You will feel like you are in Wonderland!

Next, you will take a short journey to the Xilitla town and have lunch at the best restaurant in town. When in town you will be given some free time for personal sightseeing. Your guide will let you know what time to meet in order to continue the tour.

Then you will journey to Huahuas Abyss for approximately 40 minutes. During the ride, you stop for the best homemade ice-cream in this region “El Palmar”. Once you are at Huahuas Abyss, you will trek the area for about 1.2 km and have about 1 1/2 hours to go sightseeing.

Enjoy a small snack as you make your journey back to Ciudad Valles (approximately 1 hour drive).

We kick off our journey from CIUDAD VALLES at approximately 8:50 in the morning. Join us for a tour of Xilitla, the most astounding surrealistic garden in all of Latin America, conceived by Edward James. This Englishman was well-known for endorsing renowned artists such as Dalí and Magritte. Additionally, we’ll take in the sights of Xilitla Pueblo Mágico, and engage in some birdwatching adjacent to Huahuas Abyss, while admiring thousands of swallows soaring above us. This is an experience not to be missed!

Edward James Surreal Garden Expedition - The views were amazing, the buildings were made by Mexican hands, since the Europeans of the time did not dare to try to build something like that. Nature mixes with the buildings which gives you a feeling of being lost in the jungle, there is a waterfall in the background, and viewpoints from above, so it is good to take photos with perspective, and experiment with different planes. The explanation that we had was very complete and encourages you to want to know more about the history not only of the nobleman, but of the Mexicans themselves who dedicated themselves to building the entire settlement and gave recommendations of other places to visit both in Ciudad Valles and in Xilitla in order to expand the experience.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING HUAXTECA.COM - Totally recommended if you want to disconnect from the city for a while, the experience was surreal and super relaxing to be part of nature in each attraction. Excellent service from Huaxteca.com with its qualified and friendly guides, always attentive to our needs, especially Osva and Paco, super talkative and with very interesting information about attractions.

It's worth it - It was beautiful, being able to appreciate nature in its splendor, the combination of architecture and natural beauty makes it an unforgettable ensemble, the basement of the huahuas is a wonderful place for reflection.

Enjoy ! - It is better to go to the garden during the week because it is practically just for you, you really enjoy the tranquility. The basement of the swallows is a show that no one should miss and what better than with Huaxteca!

Costs - Another thing about the online cost is $130 and in person at the Xilitla kiosk at $165, the two options plus $30 for the guide.
