Cruise the Mekong from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc

Chau Doc - A boat ticket has been reserved from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc. Please ensure to transfer from Phnom Penh city to the boat landing at “International Floating Port – 103 Sisowath Quay” before noon. Board the HangChau speed boat at 12:00 for a four-hour cruise along the Mekong River, crossing the Kamsamnor border to Vinh Xuong in Vietnam. Continue cruising to Chau Doc, where a guide will meet you at Con Tien boat pier and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy an overnight stay in Chau Doc.

Chau Doc to Can Tho

Tra Su Bird Sanctuary - Rise early for a boat ride through the vibrant riverside market, filled with a delightful array of sounds, colors, and aromas. Cruise through the fish-farm village, where tons of fish are produced beneath numerous floating homes. Explore the ethnic Cham village, known for the Etsan Mosque, and observe local women engaged in traditional weaving. Transfer to the Tra Su cajeput nature reserve in Tinh Bien district, home to 140 plant species and 70 bird species. In the afternoon, depart for Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta. Before checking into the hotel, visit the Binh Thuy ancient house, built in 1870 with French architectural style while retaining traditional Southern features. Overnight in Can Tho.

Can Tho to Saigon

Cai Rang Floating Market - Start early for a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, the largest wholesale market in the Mekong Delta, operating from 5:00 am until midday. Although not as bustling as before, it remains an intriguing experience for those unfamiliar with the Mekong Delta. Enjoy a long cruise to Phong Dien through winding natural waterways. The guide will pause for a walk along a serene country road to admire the stunning scenery, observe various fruit trees, and interact with locals in their daily activities.

The van will pick you up and head back to My Tho to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, situated in a large garden in My Phong commune. Additionally, visit a village known for making vermicelli (noodles).

At Phnompenh, the Mekong splits into two main branches: the HauGiang (Tonle Bassac) which flows via ChauDoc, LongXuyen and CanTho to the sea; and the TienGiang (Tonle Mekong) which splits into several branches at VinhLong and empties into the sea at six points. The Mekong river cruise from Phnompenh to ChauDoc, Cantho and onto Saigon will be a good choice to explore the delta region.
