Lord of the Rings brought to life - When I started this tour I knew very little about The Lord of the Rings but all the pictures I saw showed amazing scenery so I booked it and I’m very glad I did. Our guide Peter was amazing! He was so knowledgeable that he made the movie come to life and the views were incredible. We were a small group of 2 so I think we were a little spoiled and got even more attention. The weather was perfect and lunch was so nice. It turned out to be one of my favorite tours.

The ONLY Tour Fit for Mt Sunday - Unbelievable. If you truly are a Lord of the Rings fan, then you NEED to take this tour. Seeing Edoras in person and the surrounding area was like stepping into Middle Earth. The landscape is beautiful and the tour itself makes that experience just a little bit more magical. Cheryl, our guide, knew the area so well and even stopped at a few other scenic locations on the way to Mt Sunday! Those were just as beautiful. Highly recommend this!

A must for LOTR fans! - The description was everything it said! We had a great time, despite the light rain, and would recommend it to anyone who loves to see Lord of the Rings movie film locations. You aren't required to hike to the top, but it is absolutely worth it! Tammy was great with local information and film related info and stories! It's an all day trip but we felt it was worth it! It also included a wonderful box lunch!

Riders of Rohan! - Our 9 hour daytrip from Christchurch was long, but it didn't seem that long with all the stops we had. About 16 people were picked up from various hotels in an off road van. Along the way, we stopped for views and the toilet, of course. We made it to Edoras just after lunch, and the climb up to the top was breathtaking. Literally. Whenever I paused to catch a breath or take in the view, I had to grab onto a bush or my husband because it was soooo windy. Tammy was a great guide. She took people up several times a week, hauling a large backpack full of supplies (first aid), and offered a hand to people as they wobbled from the wind or vertigo. We had 2 LOTR swords for people to pose and take photos with. Both Aragorn's. No Rohanian. But it wasn't why I came. At the top, it was fabulous. Simply amazing. Even if you didn't come for the Lord of the Rings, this was just gorgeous place to visit. You just want to put your arms up and shout out a woot! There was one rebar sticking out of the ground that is supposed to be part of the original LOTR build. It was to difficult to remove, so it was cut and left in the ground. Lunch was after we came down, about 2pm. Bring a snack if you get hungry while climbing. Also, fyi. It is a steep climb. Completely natural - no stairs or rails. Take your time and be cautious of the wind.

The Rohan as in the trilogy - Circumspect at first I loved this trip to the land of Rohan and the adventure in 4x4 (small group of 2 + the driver / guide) brightened my day and sent me back 25 years to the release of the 2nd part of LOTR, “Les 2 tours”

The best day in Rohan - This might have been the highlight of our entire NZ trip. I look back so fondly on this day, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and our guide was very friendly and knowledgable. It was a pleasant journey (even over many kms of gravel roads) and we had plenty of stops/comfort breaks. Getting to hold the Rohan flag at the top of Mt Sunday was such a special moment. Highly recommend!

Not just for LOTR fans. - Great day out. The weather started out great. In the afternoon it got clouded and the wind picked up but even then it was still entertaining and enjoyable. Cheryl was a great guide for the whole of this day. Lot of stories where told about the region and the movies. She made us feel at home and at ease. The ride to edoras is long but with a stop to gather for second breakfasties is ok. When you get of the well traveled roads the fun really begins. You drive through lovely green landscapes. After a few sightseeing stops in between to take some pictures there comes the moment when you really enter the valley and you can see Edoras from a far view point. You immediately understand why Peter Jackson used this location. It is just God...... gorgeous. The view of this little hill surrounded by these mountains is a sight you will never forget. After a few more miles yu arrive at the car park. You get a little bit of instructions about the wind and the cows you are going to meet, Then it is of to the top. It is a short steep climb but you are rewarded with a scenic and epic view. With our group there was an elderly lady of around 90 years old and she made it all the way to the top. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.. After you arrive you have to take those all important pictures. take a few with a flag or a weapon from the movies. After this spectacle you have a little third afternoon breakfasties at mount potts lodge to let it all sink in. Then it is back to where we started. On the way back you can watch a documentary about LOTR and Edoras and Cheryl will tell some more interesting stories. After a nice tour and day you will be satisfied with what you have seen and experienced. would recommend this to all. It is entertaining and enjoyable even when you are not a LOTR fan. Cheryl and Hazzle free Tours thanks for a lovely experience. I will take the memories with me!!

Great Day Out - We had a great day. From pick up at 8.30 to drop off at 6pm. Our guide Tammy was friendly, helpful, informative and welcoming. The ‘hill’ you walk up is steep but doable. Tammy was a star making sure everyone got to the top in their own time. The lovely lunch and a glass of fizz at the Mt Potts Lodge was a lovely treat after. Thank you again for a lovely day.
