- Cholula - The journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Mexico City. The transfer to Cholula takes approximately 2.5 hours.
- Great Pyramid of Cholula - Upon arrival in Cholula, the impressive Great Pyramid, known for having the largest pyramid base in the world, and the iconic yellow Virgin of the Remedies Church atop it, will come into view. Our first stop is a small museum housing original artifacts from the archaeological zone and providing a historical overview. We will then explore the archaeological area, including the altar fields and remnants of the Pyramid’s various stages.
- Historic Centre of Puebla - Next, we head to the downtown historical center of Puebla City, where we will explore the beautiful colonial architecture that emerged after the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. Here, we will visit the most significant landmarks.
- Mercado el Parian - This popular tourist spot is perfect for those interested in seeing or purchasing handicrafts. Thousands of products are available, with talavera being the most popular.
- Street of Candies - We continue our journey along this street, home to numerous candy shops offering traditional and famous sweets from Puebla. You will have the opportunity to taste candies like camotes (made with sweet potato) or borrachitos (alcohol-infused gummies), among hundreds of others. We will also visit a talavera workshop to learn about the art’s creation process.
- Zocalo de Puebla - As we stroll through these vibrant and lively streets, you will admire the distinct architectural styles from the colonial era following the Spanish arrival. The streets are bustling with businesses. We will arrive at Zocalo, the main square, featuring a beautiful garden and fountain. This popular meeting spot is surrounded by numerous restaurants, where we can enjoy lunch.
- Puebla Cathedral - We will visit the main building in the Zocalo, with its towers reaching 70 meters. Construction began in the 16th century, and it is one of the most significant properties in the historic center, designated as a World Heritage Site. Inside, you will be amazed by the domes and architectural design.
- Biblioteca Palafoxiana - We will take a brief visit to admire the first public library in Latin America, founded by Spanish bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza in 1646.
- Parque Centro Cívico 5 de Mayo (La Mantarraya) - Our final stop is the site of the 5 de Mayo battle. This hill features two forts and additional modern-era buildings, including a cable car. From this vantage point, we can view the city’s central area and, on a clear day, even the volcanoes.
