This is a Must-do for a Comfortable Relaxing Tour - This was one of the best tours we’ve been on. Mike picked us up in front of the place we are staying, explained the proposed itinerary for the all-day tour and asked us if we wanted to make any changes. We got to see Mt Fuji from several different locations, visit a couple shrines, ride a cable car over a volcano caldera and cruise on a pirate ship to see the red torii. Mike was the perfect guide on the perfect tour. He is very knowledgeable and provides as much or as little information about the sites as you desire. He never rushed us while keeping us informed about the approaching weather system. His timing and suggestions allowed us to experience all the things we wanted to see and then he dropped us off at our preferred location at the end of the day. In our travels, we have found that many tour guides go through the motions to “tick the boxes” of the basic schedule and then rush you through the second half of the tour; sometimes suggesting that you skip something so they can get off work and go home early. Mike did none of these things. He worked hard to make sure our experience would be a memorable one. We had originally considered visiting Mt. Fuji and Hakone on our own, but the holiday prevented us from making train reservations. We are so glad that happened. There is no way we could've seen all we did as stress-free as we did without someone with the local planning knowledge Mike has. I recommend Mike and ABC Tours (his company) wholeheartedly to everyone wanting to see Mt Fuji. It was a great day for us. Thanks Mike!

Perfect day out to Fuji - We had a perfect day and tour with Mike to Mount Fuji. The car was.comfortable and Mike was a great driver. Also Mike was very knowledgeable about the area and Japanese culture so we learned a lot. I would highly recommend Mike and would call him again when I next visit Tokyo

Wonderful Tour and Guide - Highly Recommend - Our family including two small children had a great time on this private tour. We got to see both lake kawaguchi and Hakone area with ample time to see the sights. Mt Fuji was a little shy as expected but we did get a brief glimpse of the top. Driver and guide Mike went above and beyond making sure we were accommodated for. He provided a car seat for our infant, brought out umbrellas during the afternoon rain, pointed out where to best take photos and then helped us take them, hiked the sights with us and gave us background info, and helped us with ticketing. He communicated fluently to us in English and translated for us to Japanese. I highly recommend Mike and would book another tour with him again if given the chance!

A must-do day trip out of Tokyo! - What a wonderful experience spending the day with Mike was! He was so kind, accommodating, and his English was superb! We were fortunate that the clouds cleared for us to see Mt Fuji, but we would have had a marvelous day with Mike even if the clouds hadn’t cleared. We were also able to request a car seat for our baby which was super helpful.

Mt Fuji, but so much more in one day! - Mike our driver was wonderful. His English was impeccable. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, helpful and upbeat. He really wanted to make it a good day for us and he did. Our goal was to see Mt. Fuji, which we did. Mike knew the in and outs of the best way to do it … pirate ship (buy first class ticket!) across Lake Ashi, then cable car to the top of Owakundani (volcano crater) where he met us in the car and helped us navigate the attractions at the top. Saw several other attractions the same day, including the Kitaguchi shrine… possibly my favorite in Japan. Enormous wooden torii gate (largest in Japan). More serene and less crowded than others. Beautiful huge cedar tree all around. We so appreciate Mike for making it such an enjoyable day.

A veritable guardian angel ! - Cannot say enough great things about Mike. He is so kind and compassionate...I found this out when I realized in Hakone that I left my passport in the hotel room in Tokyo (and was not returning to Tokyo). He helped to call the hotel and work out a plan. He was incredibly flexible and accommodating, dropped us off at the Mt. Fuji hotel, drove me back to the Tokyo hotel, and then drove me all the way across town to Tokyo Station, helped me buy a ticket on the Shinkansen before letting me go. A guardian angel for sure. You are in good hands with Mike!

The most beautiful and memorable tour with the most incredible tour guide. - Mike is the most incredibly patient and kind tour guide. He did his best to give us an optimal experience. We saw the best views of Mount Fuji from Chureito Pagoda, Lake Kawaguchi, visited the traditional village of Oshino Hakkai, Kutaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, where my husband got his goishun book, and went up into Hakone. though the weather got misty and rainy (it was hot and sunny for most of our tour), and we could not do the cable car, he did his best to fill it up with another experience. And that was the most magical of all. The Hakone Shrine wreathed in mists and the Tori in the lake at the bottom of the shrine was other-worldly and unforgettable. From the time of the booking, he went above and beyond, and dropped us off at the Hakone Retreat Villa, where we were staying after our tour. He gave us tips about what to do in Kyoto and Osaka, and advice about how to make our way around. Our enjoyment of the trip and our comfort was his first priority. I have never met a more considerate and thoughtful tour guide. I started off the trip feeling very ill. And he was so patient and kind with me throughout the day. He really is a one in a million.

Private Tour to Mount Fuji - We recently took a private day tour to Mount Fuji and the surrounding area. While we enjoyed our day, I have to mention that this tour felt more like having a private driver than a guided experience. If you're looking for in-depth information about Japan's history and culture, this might not be the best choice, as the guide's knowledge was somewhat limited. Additionally, be prepared for significant traffic; it took us about two hours to reach the area from Tokyo and around two and a half hours to return. Despite these drawbacks, we had a good day overall, and the driver was friendly and accommodating. Just manage your expectations regarding the tour structure and content.
