Arequipa Colca Chivay
Abra Patapampa - Departing from Arequipa at 8 am, the journey begins with a guide. After an hour, the route passes through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where vicuñas can be seen. A stop will be made for restroom breaks, and there will be opportunities to see llamas, alpacas, and migratory birds. The journey continues to Patapampa at 4,910 meters above sea level, offering views of volcanoes such as Misti, Ubinas, Sabancaya, and the Andes mountain ranges. A 30-minute descent leads to Chivay, where lunch is available (optional), followed by hotel accommodation.
In the afternoon, around 3:30 pm, a visit to the thermal baths (Chacapi and/or La Calera) is planned, lasting 1 hour and 45 minutes. In the evening, enjoy traditional Colca dances and dinner at a tourist restaurant (optional).
Chivay - Cruz del Condor - Chivay - Arequipa
Mirador Cruz del Condor - On the second day, at 6:30 am, the journey continues to witness the condor’s flight. Stops for photographs will be made in the town of Yanque, at the Achoma viewpoint (terraces), and the Antahuilque viewpoint (terraces). Upon arrival at the Colca Canyon, observe the condor’s flight for an hour and take a 30-minute walk at the Cruz del Condor. The return to Chivay includes stops at the Mirador Wayra Punku and Maca town, with an optional lunch in Chivay for an hour. The journey back to Arequipa includes a final restroom stop, with an expected arrival at 4:30 pm.
