Great trip! - This was a great way to get from Puno to Arequipa at the same time as seeing the Colca Canyon and condors. The trip included multiple stops at places of interest (small towns and viewing points) , an optional trip to thermal spring baths, hotel (small 3* hotel, on a par with other 3* hotels we’ve stayed at in Peru), dinner and local music/dance show. We had a great time and would recommend the trip. Things to be aware of - we left Arequipa early on a large comfortable coach aware that on day 2 we would be transferred to a smaller mini bus style transport. Approx half way to Colca at a service stop we were informed that we were switching to a smaller mini bus then. We joined a group who’d come from Arequipa - the mini bus was full and it felt quite a squeeze and from the back row which was raised it was difficult to see out of the window. - the evening dinner and music show was fine but the food was not great - other people seemed to be on different tours that did/did not include the same ‘things’. As a result on iDay 2 before we could go to the canyon to see the condors, we had to make a 30 minute round trip to pick people up who had chosen their own accommodation somewhat in the country side - we were told on day 2 that our pick up would be 6am or thereabouts but the hotel that the tour had booked us into didn’t start serving breakfast until 6am. Our pick up was adjusted to allow us to have breakfast but it felt like we’d had to rush breakfast to then do a detour to pick up the people who’d stayed in another town. - The guide was brilliant. Full of so much information, interesting and funny. He was really kind to a girl who was unwell, possibly suffering from the altitude and arranged for a doctor to meet her when we stopped for lunch. My only negative comment is that for the last hour and a half of the drive in to Puno he was watching a TV show or something on his mobile phone without ear phones and it was quite intrusive for us as passengers. - the driver got us there safely and in one piece but this sort of trip isn’t for the faint hearted! Early in the journey out of Puno e we drive past a lorry that was overturned and hanging off the side of the road - it had only recently happened. Some of the overtaking felt a little questionable but we survived! On the route into Arequipa we drive past a vehicle ‘graveyard’ containing lots of smashed in buses, coaches, mini buses etc which had obviously been in fairly serious accidents. But all that said, we saw lots of condors at Colca canyon which was amazing and we’d do it again!

Great overview of Colca and surroundings - Great tour. Logistics were well organized and our guide Peter gave very insightful information and recommendations in two languages along the two days. They even brought us to an extra viewpoint in hope to see a Condor as it was rare this season.

Breathtaking tour from Puno to Arequipa! - Raul is a great guide! His knowledge of the area and its history is amazing. He and our driver Alex took great care of our tour party for the entire two day trip. The views on this tour were truly breathtaking and we were lucky enough to see several condors soaring high above Colca Canyon. Highly recommended this tour!

Great tour to Colca Canyon - Great option to know southern Peru. Views are amazing and the tour guides are polite and knowledgeable. Overall, the experience is recommended. Hotel in Chivay was good, as well as all the meals provided. Dinner in Chivay was fun with the traditional music and dances. Visit to the termal bath was great. Beware that it's not that easy to watch condors flying, we only saw one.

Great tours lots of view point stops - It was a great tour . An amazing way to travel from puno to Arequipa while you visit so many places so many view points , little hikes , hot springs and the condor colca canyons . My tour had all meals included and the entrance fee to canyons as well . You see lots of places on your way to Chivay then you stay the night and next day you see the condors flying and the colca valley . The guide “ Bryan “ was good and given the hard task of speaking French and English for the entire tour , he was good made sure we all got the necessary information and made sure he took us to as many stops as possible. It was a good tour

Well organised tour with Colca Canyon highlight - Great way of travelling from Puno to Arequipa via Chivay and Colca Canyon. Our guide, Victor, was very good - giving us lots of interesting information and fluently switching between Spanish and English throughout. We particularly enjoyed the thermal baths in Chivay, the Colca Canyon and the dance show at dinner in Chivay. Only 3 of us had booked onto the tour so they connected us up with other groups who were coming from Arequipa and going back there, which worked well - the mixing of tours meant we had a bigger group and coordination was smooth and well organised. Downsides: food at dinner in Chivay was very simple and we would have preferred to be able to pay for an upgrade. Also the hotel in Chivay was fine but other members of our group were staying at a much nicer hotel in another village and we would have liked to have the option to pay to upgrade to that hotel, or be able to book it ourselves directly.

Positive: The bus ride... - Positive: The bus ride from Puno to Chivay was great. The bus was big and comfortable. The dinner in Chivay was fun because of the show and the food was OK. We managed to see condors thanks to the guide, who took us to another viewpoint after waiting without any luck at Cruz del Condor. Negative: We where assigned to 3 different guides throughout the 2 days, making the planning very confusing and mixing us with people who still had to visit places that we had already visited the day before. We where told by the second guide that our pick up time the next day would be at 6:45. During breakfast we got a call from our new guide that they would be 30 minutes early, so we had to rush. In the end, they picked us up at 6:35, so after rushing we still had to wait. We had lunch included both days. The first lunch was OK (but not good), but the second lunch was terrible (we suspect we got food poisoning there). The hotel room in Chivay had no ventilation, so after showering the whole room was full of steam and the windows could not be opened. We were also left waiting in the rain because the front door was locked and the receptionist was out to buy something. The van that took us from Chivay to Colca Valley and then to Arequipa was very small and uncomfortable.
