Loved the bush walk in the fresh mountain air. - Our guide was very knowledgeable about the local flora and passionate about the healing properties of being in the mountains. He set a brisk pace on the bush walk, with frequent stops for rest, photo opportunities and informational talks. Would have liked some more information about the indigenous history of the area. Good amounts of time were given at the stopping points on the trip. The wild kangaroo sightings were a bit disappointing.

Cordially guided ramble round vistas, waterfalls & spideys - It was a great outing. I got to see the Blue Mountains in the sunshine, and then, the next day, in the mist. I would have quite liked to also see them when it’s downright hot, and apparently the oil from the eucalyptus evaporates and shrouds the valley in the titular hues of blue, but this was just as great, with the ribbons of vapour lending the whole place a fairy tale- or Lost World-type quality. The true standout of the tour however was our guide, whose name to my great shame I’ve not managed to retain either mentally or digitally, since my phone’s memory subsequently got wiped, but he was the one who had a school friend who was snapped in half by a shark (retrospective content warning). That’s not a piece of information I necessarily would have wanted to reproduce here, but Wildlife Tours/Autopia/Get Lost simply don’t profile their guides on their various websites, so I’ve not been able to find him online (Greg? Derek? Chris? One of those three). Anyway he was one of the best guides I had during my month Down Under, radiating warmth, wisdom and generosity of spirit with every word and gesture. On the bus on the way there he made a point of making a detour to some established kangaroo haunts, and that’s where I spotted my first marsupial in the wild, which was thrilling. He also pointed out a few scattered specimens of the impressively toxicity-world-record-wielding Sydney Funnelweb Spider, which was interesting. The hike is a good, hearty one with a bit of up and down, but nothing too exacting and in any case the major trails in Australia are so pristinely well-kept you could do it in your sneakers, if not slippers. A nice, scenically dramatic change from the beach for sure!

Worth the Hike - This was an amazing full day of beautiful sights. Greg was our tour guide and definitely took us on a five-star adventure. We had perfect weather--blue sky and warm, but not hot temperatures. We had wonderful views of the Blue Mountains, Wentworth Falls, and The Three Sisters--plus several other breaks including small town stops for food and souvenir shopping. We took several short hikes at various stops, but the most impressive (and challenging) was a hike to the bottom of the falls where we were able to see a rainbow in the falls! It was optional, but worth the view. A few words of caution...The walk down is made up of about eight different sets of "stairs" totaling over 400 steps--which means that you will also have to climb back up those 400+ steps! It was worth it, but we were pretty tired by the time we reached the top again. After the climb, we were positioned in a spot where we were able to take some lovely sunset pictures before heading back to Sydney at night. This is a long day (10-ish hours), but definitely a great tour covering beautiful scenery.

Shout out to Greg in Sydney ! - A special mention to our guide, Greg he was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly, funny, and really knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. He kept the group engaged the entire time and made sure everyone felt comfortable. Our group was approx 20-25ppl. After maybe a short hour, we stopped in a small town, with a few lunch option and toilets. What we really appreciated is how well he knows the area. Before each walk, he explained the difficulty level, how long it would take, and always gave us the option to join or skip depending on how we felt. The day was very well organised from start to finish. Since the weather forecast wasn’t great, Greg kept checking conditions throughout the day to make sure we could enjoy the mountains while staying as dry as possible. We did end up getting completely soaked but honestly it just added to the experience! The rain made the waterfalls even more impressive and magical. Due to the fog, we didn’t get to see the Three Sisters or the sunset. However, Greg checked with everyone and offered to still go if we wanted. As a group, we agreed it wouldn’t be worth it since visibility was very low, so we headed back to the city earlier. Despite the weather, we had an amazing day and would highly recommend this tour, especially with Greg as your guide!

If you are expecting a... - If you are expecting a flat walk to an overlook, this is not for you. My husband and I loved the hike and views, but many in our tour were not fit, and found it to be more of a challenge. Derek was a wealth of info and the views are incredible!

Amazing photo moments and hike - Phenomenal experience! Our tour guide Derrick was very knowledgeable about the geology & history of Australia & the blue mountains. He even taught us about the eucalyptus canopy, tea tree bushes and the beneficial the oils to our health and stress relief. Our group of 11 people was perfect for me. Even if we were in the back of the group we could still hear Derrick when he stopped to point something out or just take a small break along the hike. HIGHLY recommend this tour ESPECIALLY if you get Derrick.

Trip as advertised for scenic beauty - Wentworth Falls hike was phenomenal, and done at a reasonable pace to accommodate a range of people. Stops at 3 Sisters and overlook for sunset also great. No kangaroos sighted, but no guarantees. Guide was helpful and appropriate with discussion.

Great guide and great tour - We had a stop in a local area to stock up on food and drink. Then we continued towards the first hiking trail in the mountains. Here we went to a lookout together and then decided whether we wanted to run down the somewhat difficult path to the waterfall or run a slightly easier path to another lookout. Afterwards we went on the big hike. Wonderful nature and original paths. Hiking boots are especially recommended in wet conditions. It went to the foot of the huge waterfall as an option. Those who were no longer fit enough waited upstairs. 490 steps down and up again 😀. Due to the bad weather (complete fog up to the bus ) we skipped the Three Sister's. For the weather, the guide cannot deduct a star.

Disappointing - Kangaroo sightings should be removed from title. While wildlife is never guaranteed, there was no effort to find kangaroos. I wish I would have chosen a tour where reviews said guide knew where to go to see them. Other than that, guide provided little information. On other tours guides were excited to share their knowledge—not this one.
