The Assateague Explorer captain and the crew will meet you at farthest left side of the harbor at dock #3. After you enter the harbor, stay left, past the restrooms/harbor master building, and go to the very end of the road. Look for the dock #3 sign and the "Assateague Explorer" sign.

So much fun. 100 year Anniversary Pony Swim - We did the kayak tour for the pony swim. They are such an amazing company. So accomodating and helpful. Because of this company, we were allowed to be the closes group to watch the swim under the restrictions because of the 100 year anniversary. They are respected by local law enforcement.

Dolphins galore - We had beautiful weather, the dolphins were plentiful. We saw a wild pony and an Eagle. Shane was a great guide. He gave us background of the wild ponies that our group was not aware of.

Great Captain - The pontoon was not terribly comfortable and filled to capacity. But Captain Shane was very knowledgeable about the area and provided many details about what were able to see. As a native, he was able to provide background with lots of local color.

Quiet October Beach Day - Admission was free, due to shutdown. Nice beach. Visitor Center closed. Portable toilets only. Ponies too far away to see.

Dolphins - A well planned and fair visit to the bay on a clear day. Pony viewing depends on how close to shore they get and they were not close enough to view except through the captains binoculars passed around. However Capt. Shane has a sharp eye for dolphins and we saw several and one eagle.

Due to high winds my... - Due to high winds my experience was cancelled . The boat operator was pleasant and we totally understand due to the conditions , just waiting to hear back when we shall receive our refund

We did not go close to... - We did not go close to the shore at all, that was disappointing. Other boats we saw did get closer. We stayed far away from the ponies.

Not the best - Seating was uncomfortable and made it hard to see unless you stood up since we were all facing the middle of the boat. The drive was very pleasant but didn’t give us much information about the area.
