- Complejo Arqueológico Chinchero - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Cusco at 6:00 a.m. and travel for an hour by tourist van to Chinchero, a quaint village offering stunning views of the Sacred Valley. In this delightful village, visitors will encounter adobe homes, narrow cobblestone streets, and locals in traditional Peruvian attire. The villagers here continue to practice many Incan traditions and crafts. If desired, there will be a demonstration of wool washing and dyeing using native plants and minerals. Additionally, guests can explore the beautiful Inca archaeological site and the colonial temple of Chinchero.
- Moray - The journey will then proceed to MORAY, where visitors can explore the intriguing site used by the Incas for agricultural experiments and seed cultivation. Here, they will learn about the ingenious drainage system designed at the terraces’ base to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
- Salt Maras Peru - Following the Moray tour, a 20-minute bus ride will take guests to THE SALT MINES OF MARAS. At this remarkable location, visitors can observe the pans fed by saline spring water, constructed on steep terraces along one side of a narrow valley. The water is distributed through a network of channels, allowing it to evaporate slowly and leave the salt behind. Salt has been harvested from Maras since Pre-Incan times, and it is believed that a collective of salt ‘miners’ has maintained the terraces and channels for centuries. The journey will then continue along the scenic route to Urubamba, the heart of the Sacred Valley, where a BUFFET LUNCH will be enjoyed.
- Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo - The scenic journey will continue to the remarkable town of OLLANTAYTAMBO. Ollantaytambo is a quintessential Incan city that has preserved the traditional Incan urban layout of narrow streets alongside flowing streams. As visitors stroll through the stone streets, the gentle sound of flowing water will evoke the city’s atmosphere during the Incan era. In the town’s upper section, there is an impressive ceremonial center used for water worship and a formidable fortress that guarded the valley’s lower access point.
- Pisac - The tour will then proceed to the small village of Pisaq, where guests can enjoy its vibrant artisan market and have free time to interact with locals and shop for handicrafts and souvenirs. Finally, visitors will explore the Pisaq Ruins before returning to Cusco around 6:30-7:00 p.m.
