A Journey to the Stars

The Andes Mountains have always held a special allure for me, with their rugged peaks and untamed beauty. When I heard about the Andes Thermal Astronomy experience, I knew it was an adventure I couldn’t pass up. Our journey began with a midday pickup, and I was immediately struck by the warmth and enthusiasm of our guides, Jesus and Nico. Their camaraderie and humor set the tone for the day, making every moment enjoyable. Our first stop was a delightful buffet lunch, where the air was filled with the sounds of local fauna. Horses, goats, alpacas, and birds roamed freely, creating a lively backdrop to our meal. After lunch, we visited a chocolate store that seemed plucked from the pages of a storybook. Its whimsical architecture and eco-friendly design were a testament to the creativity and sustainability that can be achieved when we work in harmony with nature. The sweet aroma of chocolate mingled with the crisp mountain air, creating a sensory experience that was both comforting and invigorating.

Our next destination was a charming cafe nestled amidst crystals and waterfalls. The mother-daughter duo who owned the cafe welcomed us with open arms, their warmth mirrored by the four friendly dogs that roamed the premises. As I savored a custom-made empanada, I couldn’t help but feel a profound connection to this place and its people. The crystals, available at such a modest price, were a tangible reminder of the Earth’s hidden treasures, waiting to be discovered and cherished.

Celestial Wonders

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we made our way to the thermal baths. The journey was a bit rough, with unpaved roads that jostled us along the way, but the anticipation of what lay ahead kept our spirits high.
