We had an excellent... - We had an excellent snorkeling experience with Joselyn. There were many kinds of tropical fish and three green sea turtles. A great time for beginners or seasoned snorkelers on Rapa Nui.

You have to snorkel HERE! - It was a very nice experience, the Jocelyn guide excellent! It gives you the confidence you need to go quiet by the sea and enjoy what corals have to deliver. The views were wonderful! Fully recommended!!

It was our first time... - It was our first time snorkeling but Valeria was a good instructor and we had a lot of fun. All necessary equipment is there for you, just remember to bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Tour Location Did Not Match Advertised Description - We booked the “Easter Island Snorkeling on Coral Reefs” tour because the description clearly states that the snorkeling takes place at Ovahe Beach on the north coast of the island, known for its clear water and coral. That location was the main reason we chose this tour for our family. However, the tour did not go to Ovahe Beach at all. Instead, we were taken to  Hanga Roa Harbour on the west side of the island and snorkeled around the harbor area where boats were docked. These are completely different parts of the island and very different environments. Snorkeling in a busy harbor is not the same experience as snorkeling at a remote coral beach on the north coast. We were never informed beforehand that the location had changed, and we were not given the option to cancel once the plan was different from what was advertised. If we had known the snorkeling would take place in the harbor rather than Ovahe Beach, we would not have booked this tour. The snorkeling location was also right beside a dive shop where equipment can be rented directly, so it did not feel like the experience justified the cost of a guided tour.

Unsafe snorkeling tour – safety equipment promised but not provided - We booked the “Easter Island Snorkeling on Coral Reefs” tour on December 28, 2025 for 5 adults through Viator. Unfortunately, the experience was very different from what was advertised and felt unsafe. The tour description clearly states that a flotation buoy would be mandatory for the group for safety and visibility, but this was not provided to the participants. Only the guides had flotation devices. As several of us are not strong swimmers, this made the experience feel unsafe. The ocean conditions were also quite rough. One participant in our group had a panic attack due to the waves, and my daughter genuinely felt like she was going to drown. Additionally, the tour description says you will visit the coral reef of Rapa Nui and see endemic marine life, but we were not taken to a reef location. Instead, we were taken to a dock/harbor area where boats were located, and we stayed in that same small area for the entire time. As a result, we saw very few fish. Overall, the tour did not match the safety measures or experience described in the listing. For a snorkeling tour where safety equipment and conditions are emphasized in the advertising, this was extremely disappointing and concerning.
