Make Chichen Itza a bucket list stop and you will not be disappointed! - We had the opportunity to discover and explore the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and we had an incredible time. Our tour guide was an individual named Romain from Aviatours and he certainly helped to make the experience so much more special. Our recommendation is to only go to this amazing location with a dedicated and trusted tour group. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to this beautiful location and book a tour once you arrive at Chichen Itza but rather arrange the tour prior. We booked our excursion while onboard the Disney Magic ship and the process was seamless. And, if your tour includes a brief stop at the Chichen Itza Welcome Center buy your souvenirs there and don’t wait until you arrive at the ruins. The prices and selection is so much better. Personally, this was a once in a lifetime stop and for us it was one more location to check off the bucket list!!

A great guide and knows his story to share with you. - Reference for a private Francophone guide in Mexico in the areas of Playa Del Carmen or Riviera Maya Nathanael Canche Cen (we were 14 people in Riviera Maya) and that NO we did not know him at all in the beginning. He has worked for Sunwing for several years and now for himself for about 2 years. We wanted to have 3-4 activities in 1 day and everyone on the networks told us that it was impossible in 1 day and well he did it to us, yes it was a busy day these obvious but that is what we wanted. We left in mini bus with air conditioning a driver and a cooler with bottled water juice and cookies he had bought for us (he didn’t have to), then left for Akumal to swim with the giant turtles then left to go see the ruins (pyramid) of Coba and what better than a Mayan descendant for us explained with his heart their stories, then we were dining in a typical mini restaurant Maya Aquiles Mayan And Mexican Food all handmade (normally with a little less people you can dine at home in his house) it was really great. Then went to cool off in a super beautiful Cenote under the ground the Cenote Chooha really beautiful and impressive. Then embarked to go to the 7th wonder of the world or even the pyramid of Chichén Itzá for the guided tour with our super guide Nathanael and then watched the show of sound and lights on the pyramid. Then finally go to dinner in a chic but very affordable restaurant Las Meztizas Track Yucatánet wow what service we had, everything was spotless and super good. So if you’re looking for a French-speaking guide but descending Maya who knows her story at her fingertips and can take you on a private guided tour from where you would like to go well these your man, super nice listening explains very well and with a very reasonable price for everything we asked him. We highly recommend it.

Simply WOW - Really one of the 7 wonders of the world. You have to go at least once in your life. It's just beautiful. We went there with a private guide, who picks us up from the hotel directly, and takes us. We arrive before the big crowds and the tons of buses full of tourists. Then we leave after a beautiful visit, well explained, and answering our tons of questions. Head to dinner at the buffet and swim in a cenote, again before the crowds. Villadolid, next stop. Small town you can explore on foot. Shops, restaurants, architecture and much more. Finally return to the hotel, after a wonderful day. We used the services of Costa private tour guide, and would highly recommend them. Marisa, the owner of this agency, will take care of you with a big smile.

Mayan day trip - We called on Secretoo and their guide Jesus, guide of the Mayan community, to visit Chichen Itza. We had an incredible time discovering the history of the Maya, their knowledge at the time and the Maya of today. It was a real moment of sharing and discovery with their community! We were able to eat a great meal and finish the day with a swim in a cenote. Thank you very much to the whole team.

Extraordinary visit - I booked through Secreteo.com only 24 to 36 hours before the date, choosing a French-speaking guide. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Classic sightseeing, tourist catchers, that’s really not my thing. A friend had advised me this agency without explaining too much, so I went a little blind. At the beginning, I simply asked for a guided tour of Chichén Itzá. Optionally, they offered me an immersion in a Mayan family, a meal at home and a small bike ride. Coming from the south of France, I thought: another little Mexican tourist folklore... well I was very far from the point of view. Our guide was called Jesús. He speaks perfect French and English. From the start, everything was square: sending precise GPS points, clear meeting place, detailed explanation of fees, tips, what was included or not. No surprises, no blurry areas. A controlled organization from A to Z. Regarding the agency: really well-threaded, professional and reassuring. But the real game changer is the guide. I am 33 years old, I came as a couple, and I can tell you that Jesús offered us an absolutely exciting visit. Hard to describe... captivating, alive, intelligent. For about 3 hours at the Chichén Itzá site, he told us the story as if we were there. You can't see everything, but you understand everything. At our own pace, stress-free, with tips for photos, good times, good places. Then we took the car back to a Mayan family, about 20–30 minutes away. And now we're entering another dimension. Jesús is descended from Maya, he speaks the Mayan language, it is his culture. Thanks to him, we were welcomed into a family – almost impossible without local contact. They opened their doors, showed us their environment, their plants, their way of cooking. We learned a few words in Mayan. It was a total immersion, a real culture shock, in the right sense of the word. Then we went even further, to a village 100% Mayan, without network, without internet, without anything. Just local life. For us who always pull out the phone... here, our attention was 200%. We were living in the moment. We visited the village, exchanged with the locals, then took a little bike ride that led us to an artisanal production of corn cakes (some even for animals). We discovered how the Mayans actually live today, right next to a cenote, and even met the oldest family in the village. And finally... the highlight of the show. Secreteo has a niche reserved only for its customers: a fully privatized cenote. Jesús left us there alone. Literally alone in the world. Just us, nature, animals, silence. It was exceptional. All this testimony starts from one simple thing: when you travel, you try to see what tourists do not see. To experience something authentic. And that’s exactly what we experienced. We were alone, immersed, connected to local culture, away from crowds, away from mass tourism. Perfect from start to finish.

A rewarding and well-organized excursion - We spent a wonderful day with our guide Claire from Secretoo to Chichen Itza. His in-depth knowledge and love for Mayan culture and archaeology made the visit exciting.

Tours ruin it - The pyramid must be one of the most impressive things I've ever seen, it's a wonderful and unmissable thing. The rest, everything is a scam, almost all tours do the same: a "Mayan ritual", a lunch "buffet", one or two cenotes and Valladolid. The Mayan ritual is a pathetic performance designed to sell you crafts, the famous buffet is a homemade meal that should not cost more than 5 dollars, the very nice cenotes nothing to say, but there are do nothing tours, only take you. Valladolid is a beautiful little town, but they want to sell you a homemade tequila for $50, the pyramid guide talks to you 30 minutes and then asks for a tip. At the end of the tour the bus guide also asks for a tip. Various tour companies all end up on the same bus, making you charged values from $60 to over $100. It is true that it includes the entrance and you save the line, but manages Mexico ruin the experience to the traveler and make at least 5 scams in a single day. Breaking records of indecency. Try to go it alone or haggle as much as you can and pay no extra weight in armed scams

Disorder and Mafia - Bad to very bad. From the arrival you see a mess that does not deserve one of the seven modern wonders of the world. Tour guides who stop you from the road. In a psychosis of insecurity with which a foreigner comes that is horrible. Makeshift and expensive parking lots or parking lots. The official parking lot of the most expensive site yet and very small, as if on purpose for others to make their August out there. Swarms of tour guides without order. The shopping experience is bad. You have to buy two tickets, one from the federal payment and one from the state payment and the same, a mess. HUNDREDS of vendors at makeshift stands on both sides of the tour that make the experience anything but enjoyable. As a Mexican you wonder what mob is there, who controls those people. We don't deserve
