Chichén Itzá was impressive - This tour was a great way to see some of the Yucatán’s most iconic spots in one day. Chichén Itzá was impressive and our guide explained the history and symbolism behind the structures in a very engaging way. Both cenotes were beautiful and very different from each other, which made the experience even better. Everything ran smoothly from pickup to drop-off, and the group size felt manageable. Highly recommend if you want a mix of culture and nature.

Well organized tour with a knowledggeable guide - We booked this tour because it included both cenotes and Chichén Itzá, and it delivered exactly what we hoped for. Our guide was excellent—very knowledgeable and also funny, which kept the long ride entertaining. At Chichén Itzá we had a guided explanation first and then free time to walk around and take photos. The history behind the site was fascinating and hearing it from someone who really knows the culture made a big difference. Swimming in Cenote Ik Kil after the ruins was honestly the perfect way to cool down. The place is beautiful and feels very peaceful despite being popular. Overall a very smooth experience from pickup to drop-off.

Great experience. - Great experience. Be ready to walk fast, time is too short due the visit of a lot of places. Avelino and Yari did a great job.

Many pros and places for improvement - Competent guide, lame and confused departure organization insisting on paying tourist tax in cash. A little messy to find our bus, but then it’s well framed. On the circuit, stop too long in a pseudo-Mayan village with pathetic purification ceremony and re-insistence to buy in the shops of the cooperative. Then everything is fine. If I had to recommend to friends I would suggest a visit to a single cenote. The very competent guide.

Better to do it on your own - The timing for this tour is off. You can do this on your own for a similar cost and go about your day in a more enjoyable and efficient way. We were not in the Hotel Zone which meant getting picked up first and dropped off last which added 2 hours to an already long day. The first 1.5 hours of the tour is picking up people. The first cenote was fine, just a quick stop to take a photo, see it, and swim a little. I found this to be an ok amount of time at this particular cenote. Then we went for lunch where most of the day went. We got welcomed by a Mayan Shaman who then just tried to sell us little statues for 8750 MXN each, after saying no, we got promptly escorted out and to the shop where we spent another 30 minutes waiting for the tables to be ready. Once at the tables you must wait another 5 minutes to be explained how a buffet works (rolls eyes) and we got just under an hour. given the 45 minute drive from the cenote, I expected a quick welcome and off for food. From there you go to Chichen Itza, but we were running a bit late so the tour cut into the walking around time and eventually into the last cenote. We arrived at the last cenote (Ik-Kil) with just 1 hour to closure. By the time you get your life jacket and go down, you will have about 20 minutes to enjoy the swim where you could easily spend an hours enjoying the water. The only saving grace of the tour is the ability to have a beer at the stops while everyone gets back on, and the positive attitude of the guides.

Major Communication, Pricing Transparency, and Basic Courtesy Issues Ruined Great Tour - It's unfortunate that a great tour was soiled by poor communication, a complete lack of price transparency, and an inconsiderate end to the trip. My group and I were excited to see Chichen Itza, swim in Cenotes, and enjoy authentic Yucatan culture. Unfortunately, in the days preceding the excursion, we were met with a complete lack of responsiveness regarding our questions about the tour. We were willing to write this off however in the case of an excellent tour. The good news is that the actual contents of the tour were great! The cenotes, Chichen Itza, and the Mayan Village were interesting and engaging places to visit. The food at the Mayan Village was also delicious. What followed the second half of the day completely ruined our experience. I was told that I still needed to pay "taxes" on the tour which was said to only be a 5% increase. Knowing that this was not a large amount I was okay with it. When I gave my card away I was met with a $200+ bill on top of the $300+ I had spent for my group to go on the tour. When we asked why this was such a high amount, we were ignored and not given a clear answer. This lack of pricing transparency was a really bad look. The crazy thing is that if that pricing was provided up front, I don't think many of us would have felt it was unreasonable. The complete lack of transparency is what felt very unfair. The drop-off sequence that ended our tour is what solidified our unfortunate experience. We were told we would be dropped off at the same spot we were picked up (Yellow Capsule), but instead we were left at a random bus stop in Cancun far from our AirBnB. This was a very unprofessional act from the tour agency. I hope others do not have the experience we did with Baktun tours because the lack of communication, pricing transparency, and general courtesy ruined a wonderful day exploring Yucatan culture.

Sorta like attending a timeshare presentation - If you’re looking for massive language barriers, a sizable pitch for souvenirs at highly inflated prices and a fast-paced tour of the Mayan ruins and cenoles, this tour is for you! We were on bus #2 which had only Spanish speaking guides so maybe this was just bad luck, but the “bus shuffle” was sorta crazy. 15 hour tour with 3 different busses and a fair amount of confusion due to the language barrier. Maybe book a tour through your hotel will save you the hours it took to sort people between the various busses and pay the taxes at the beginning and then again at the end to return to the hotels. The sites to visit were great although the 90 minutes at chichen itza was too short by far.

Confirmed pickup, but no one showed up - The tour was originally scheduled for January 1, but the operator informed us that one site (Suytun) was closed, so we rescheduled to January 6 as agreed. The pickup time was confirmed for 7:20 am. We were on time and waiting at the hotel, but no one showed up. We tried to contact the driver and operator, but received no response. No service was provided at all. This was very disappointing and caused a lot of inconvenience. I would not recommend this tour.
