A Serendipitous Stop in the Windy City

It was an unexpected layover in Chicago that led me to one of the most delightful experiences of my recent travels. After celebrating my 50th birthday in Nashville, I found myself with a day to spare in the heart of the Midwest. The allure of Chicago’s architectural marvels and culinary delights was too tempting to resist, so I decided to embark on the Chicago Highlights Tour.

As someone who spent her youth road-tripping across America, the idea of exploring a city on foot was both nostalgic and invigorating.
