Good experience - The museum was a good experience. The bistro area is insane and the food is ridiculously over priced.

Best one - It is one the best museums in Chicago. The Egyptian exhibits were the best, giving a glimpse into Egyptian history. Another remarkable place is where the dinosaur fossils are displayed. The crowd levels were moderate, manageble. Staff was good. We visited the museum for about 2 hours. The atmosphere was of excitement. It is the best for history, and fossil lovers, though others will like it too. I strongly suggest you visit this museum

Definitely must do - Wonderful museum. You will need to stand in line to get voucher exchanged for the all access pass, which is on a tiny print out. You will need to keep that print out as they ask for order number on it at each point. The reptile exhibit is worth it but the other two, insects underground and after dinosaurs are not worth it unless you have a special interest in those topics and want to see dioramas. Note re 3D movie- you can get it on Field museum website separately in advance. Recommend the docent led free tours. Our docent loved the museum in all aspects and was extremely knowledgeable about other exhibits too. The Field bistro cafe is not fancy but decent family friendly meals. Very reasonably priced for Chicago.

Dinosaurs and lots more!! - My wife and I enjoyed the museum very much!! There’s so much to see and do that we couldn’t do everything before our flight, but the dinosaur related exhibits were a must! Seeing Sue the T-Rex was awesome, but there is tons more related to pre dinosaur and what happened after the meteor, leading all the way to present day and humans. Would definitely come back and see again and have the time to see a 3D movie or two if we come back to Chicago!

Good first visit - Huge museum, but a good Birds Eye view. To truly view everything, it would be good to be a member to visit periodically and take in exhibits leisurely.

Great Museum, TripAdvisor portion harder work than it should have been - Great Museum, TripAdvisor portion harder work than it should have been. The museum itself was excellent, lots of exhibitions from across the globe covering wildlife, culture and the environment. Some of the exhibits were more leaning to children than adults but that didn't detract too much. Main challenges were getting inas the staff at the entrance seemed to be expecting a qr code and didn't know what to do with a bar code. Also no pre advice from TripAdvisor to say that the museum was closing early for an event on the day I visited.

Field Museum with a four year old - We went to the field museum with our almost 4 yr old child. He enjoyed the dinosaur skeletons m. The Egyptian Pharaoh was something we just walked by and I didn’t want my child to see those things or question me about the after life things. Please carry food or snacks with you, the food court/bistro is very very very expensive. Also if you are someone having food restrictions (like Indians have, it is best to carry your own snacks/food). If you are not carrying food then don’t worry, there are few food stalls right outside the Shedd aquarium and you can have food there. Field museum is next to Shedd Aquarium, one can cover these two together. Field museum is covered under city pass.

A day in Chicago. Take in the museum but set your expectations appropriately. The reptile live and underground lacked - The museum was decent, but I had heard really good things and found it average overall. Maybe I am spoiled with other museums in other cities.
