Great tour! - Kelly was our guide, and she was terrific! It is amazing what I was missing just aimlessly wandering around. The architecture tour really opens your eyes to these amazing gems in the city!

Great tour! - We had a great time and learned a ton with Kelly today! She knew all about the buildings and, since we had an unexpected detour, we got to hear some cool facts about other buildings as well and it was super fun. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience and expert guide! - The walking tour was led by a very knowledgeable and helpful guide, Nancy. She answered any and all questions with enthusiasm and made it one of the best tours in Chicago. She added many tips and information that the average person would not know about architecture. It was an excellent choice guided by an expert who took time to explain minute details of the city’s interesting buildings and types of architecture through the years. A must for those interested in history, as well. Excellent!

Insight historical architecture and public art of Chicago - MATT! What an insightful, joyful afternoon made warm and sunny in spite of a damp May Day. Starting at Whacker and stopping along the way down to Millennium Park appreciating the various skylines and public art. We walked south then west into the Loop.

Must See Chicago & Elevated Architecture Downtown L Train - The Chicago Architecure Center offers a range of tours & is a well established & respected operation. The guides, around 450 of them, are volunteers, doing it because they have an interest in the subject, they don’t accept tips. I did the ‘Must See Chicago’ tour & the ‘L Train’ tour. Both were superb. The ‘Must See’ tour was a brilliant orientation exercise for getting familiarised with the most iconic buildings in the downtown area & I’d booked it before my arrival into Chicago, whereas the ‘L Train’ was something that really piqued my interest whilst in the city, its rusting elevated tracks such a defining feature of Chicago. In the latter tour, you learn more about the history of the L & how it has shaped the development of the city, with most of the 2 hours spent on train platforms, very little actually riding the train. Both tours were informative & if I returned to Chicago I would t hesitate in booking more tours with the CAC, they offer an array of fascinating itineraries, including exploration of neighbourhoods such as Chinatown & Humboldt Park.

Don't Miss "Must-See Chicago" - We participated in this walking tour on a cold, snowy and windy December day and our tour guide, Amanda, turned our experience into a bright and sunny experience. We were especially pleased to hear about so many "must-see" sites not included in the webpage description. We especially enjoyed hearing about the history of each building/site and its place in the genre of architectural periods. We have been on many of the CAC tours and this is a "not to miss" experience any time of the year.
