Mixed feelings. Take a grab there. - Nisa was great! Great English. Getting there was an adventure that I don’t relish repeating. Took a grab back to hotel. Grand Canyon view was kind of beautiful even though it is man made. Learned a lot about the market and 4 different dishes we chose from a list. Plus other things she prepared. Recipes by scan code provided. Sat to eat but standing the rest of the time. 4 plus hours. Not ADA accessible from what I saw. No toilet paper for you westerners. Just a wet bottom sprayer. Not unusual here. Open air concept building. I asked to see photo of transport but got no response at all until 50 minutes before pick up and then no photo. Yes, I booked the day before. No excuse. Previous Viator van debacle made me leery. Driver almost ran over a motorbike and van was in general disrepair(very small for 5 people ) with un-usable seatbelts, engine light on and A/C spewing a vulgar odor until we asked for windows to be opened. I know she needed the job but slow down then. And stay off the phone? Scared me witless.

Amazing cooking class with experienced chefs! - When you arrive at the market they give you a menu and you choose the dishes that you want to cook and eat. We took this class as a couple so we were able to cook and try twice the dishes!! Richie was our cooking instructor. He was very skilled. 10 of us were cooking all different dishes and the instruction was organized and flawless. You saw how to cook every dish on this menu because they showed you how to make them all. The location was about 15 mins from downtown. The van that picked us up was comfortable. It was picturesque and nice and cool in the shade. The recipes were made from scratch from the curry pastes to the coconut sauce for the sticky rice. There were also beer and sodas for purchase for $1.50 each. A wonderful way to spend 1/2 a day.

Good Cookery Class - It all seemed a bit rushed to start with due a late pick up. Not an air conditioned car and very hot when stuck in traffic. The market was great but we had hardly anytime there as he said we were running late so no time to look around at all. The course itself was very good, clear instructions and efficiently run. We cooked 2 dishes then sat down to eat those. Afterwards we made 2 other dishes and watched how to make mango sticky rice. After we ate our very tasty food we had an hour to wait for the taxi back to town. Some of us went on the kayaks or had a swim. It isn’t a canyon at all. It is a disused quarry and right next door to the water park so a bit misleading. However, still a nice setting for an open air cookery school.
