• Russei Keo - Fish Port and Market at Russey Keo on the Tonle Sap River.
  The Tonle Sap River, which drains the expansive freshwater lake of the same name, is a vital fishery. Traveling north from Phnom Penh, the journey pauses at the fish port. Here, local fishermen in traditional boats bring their catch to sell to traders for distribution and direct sales at the bustling fish market.
• Silver Smith Making Village - Bopha Kampong Luong Silversmith Village.
  Continuing north along the Tonle Sap River, the journey reaches Kampong Luong to explore the traditional silversmith village. Visitors can observe local artisans crafting handicrafts from silver and other metals, while experiencing their traditional lifestyle.
• Tonle Sap River - Floating Village at Kampong Luong.
  A bit further north, there is an opportunity to view an expansive floating village. These villages are characteristic of the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers, with the largest being entire communities of businesses, services, and floating homes.
• Arey Kasap Pagoda - Moving inland from the river, the journey arrives in the Oudong district. Once the royal capital of Cambodia, this is a significant historic and cultural site. The visit begins with Wat Arey Kasap, a contemporary Buddhist temple showcasing many traditional architectural and sculptural themes. During the guided tour, visitors may receive a traditional Buddhist blessing from one of the monks, if desired.
• Phreah Reach Traop Mountain - The highlight of the day trip, the jungle-covered Mount Oudong is highly picturesque, offering expansive views of the surrounding plains. This important historic site is frequently visited by Cambodians but often overlooked by tourists. The remains of numerous kings and royalty are entombed in the many stupas here. The elongated mountain runs SE to NW and is ascended on foot via many steps. The 1.5km route ascends the northern end and follows the wooded ridgeline to reach the stunning white stupa called Preah Shakyamuni Chedi, completed in 2002, which is a modern addition housing Buddha relics. From here, visitors can choose to continue along the ridgeline for a longer walk or descend the 509 steps directly back to the village. The longer walk option passes more ancient stupas, temples, statues, and associated stone carvings, leading to the historic Wat Athaross temple, a highly sacred site recently restored after destruction by the Khmer Rouge.
• Chey Odam - Market. Nestled at the base of Phnom Oudong, Chey Odam village is a charming place frequently visited by day-tripping Cambodians from Phnom Penh. Visitors can take time to explore the market before heading for lunch.

  With many weekend visitors from the city, Oudong is well-equipped with Khmer restaurants offering traditional food served in shady huts, providing a relaxing escape from the sun. Roast chicken with morning glory is a popular choice, but there is a wide selection of both vegetable and meat dishes.

During this day trip, participants will explore the site of Cambodia’s former Royal Capital at Mount Oudong. After making several stops en route, the journey continues to the village of Chey Odam, where a hike to the mountain’s summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The tour includes a walk through a shaded forest to explore both ancient and modern temples and stupas. This tour is ideal for families, groups, and solo travelers.
