Brilliant! - Reviewing for the Welcome to Chester tour! It was great. Just five of us, Paul was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and I feel like I know Chester so much better now and can see all the hidden history. Also, I had a job interview and he told me to rub the baby elephant’s ear for good luck, which I did, and I just got word I got the job! I’m inclined to give Paul the credit. You will not regret taking this tour!

Discover Chester's Amazing City Centre with Paul Woods Walking Tour. - We were very lucky to have been introduced to Paul Woods when we went to the Tourist Information Office in Chester. His walking tour was due to start shortly after we arrived. We decided to give it a go and we were all so glad that we did. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable on the history of Chester and it's people. Paul took us to various places within the city centre and showed us various points of interest that we alone would never have found. Please don't hesitate if you are lucky enough to be able to join Paul's tour. Thank you Paul.

A peaceful and beautiful place - The park like cemetery is a beautiful backdrop for Caroline’s stories of Chester’s past. She puts the history of the city on a human scale and makes it relevant using information about the lives of individuals who once lived there. There are politicians, business people, children, firemen, sailors and ordinary folk - who have lived their long-ago lives in Chester. The twenty minute walk from the centre of town to the cemetery crosses the river and winds along a path that follows the bank. It’s a beautiful walk and the tour is a lovely quiet way to spend the late afternoon.

Excellent introduction to Chester and its history - We joined Paul's "Welcome to Chester" walking tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Paul is an excellent guide, friendly and clearly very knowledgeable. He presented quite a large amount of information in a clear and entertaining manner. The pace of the tour was suitable for anyone (the tour demographic was ages 40+ to 80+ and we all managed to keep up!). Anyone who has significant difficulty with steps and stairs might struggle a little, but Paul's tour is definitely worth the effort!

Engaging Walking Tour of Chester - Welcome to Chester - Walking Tour. Very informative and enjoyable tour. Gave a good orientation to centre of Chester. Interesting to see places that you would normally not gain access to without a guide. Who would have guessed what lies beneath Pret A Manger or above a jeweller’s shop (I won’t spoil things)? Paul was a very engaging and knowledgeable guide. Thank you.

The past reawaken. - Fascinating tour, well worth going on. Guide had a great knowledge of the graveyard and 'occupants' and brought to life the ones who had contributed to the City.

Huge cemetery, some great carvings - It was good to see the cemetery. Would liked to have more stories of general interest rather than of mayors or dignitaries of the area.
