Post-lunch, your tour guide will introduce you to the marvel of the Leshan Giant Buddha, situated on the banks of the Minjiang River, famously described as “Buddha is the hill and the hill is a Buddha.” Begin by visiting Linyun Temple, built to honor the monk Hai Tong, who, under challenging circumstances, gathered donations 1000 years ago to initiate this monumental project. Then, descend the zigzagging trail along the left side of the Buddha. The Buddha resembles a small mountain, and hiking from its head to its shoulder, and from its leg to its foot, takes about 30 minutes.

Next, ascend the right side, which offers a splendid view of Leshan city across the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu, and Qingyi Rivers. Finally, if time allows, visit Wuyou Temple, where you can admire the statues of 500 Arhats.

After hiking, you have the option to take a cruise along the rivers to view the Buddha from the water (optional program - additional cost of approximately $12 USD).

In the late afternoon, your driver will embark on a 2-hour drive back on the expressway, providing just enough time for a short nap in the vehicle.
