• Dujiangyan Panda Base - At 8:00 am, guests will be picked up from their centrally located Chengdu hotel lobby for a one-hour drive to the Dujiangyan Panda Base. This base is less crowded, offering a more peaceful experience. Morning visits are ideal to see the pandas during their feeding time when they are most active.
• Dujiangyan Irrigation System - Following lunch, visitors will proceed to the renowned Dujiangyan Irrigation System. This impressive project was initially built around 256 BC by the Qin state. Situated on the Min River, a tributary of the Yangtze, the system was engineered to conserve water and manage flooding. It continues to irrigate 2,046 square miles (5,300 sq km) of land today. The guide will provide insights into how this monumental project transformed the Sichuan basin into a fertile area while preventing floods in surrounding regions.
